Your Avon Website

by Lynn Huber on May 17, 2014

Computer Mouse and internet

As an Avon Representative you may think that Avon is your primary brand, but that’s not true.

You actually have three brands: the Avon products, the Avon opportunity, and the most important – YOU! People buy from people who they know, like and trust.

Having a personal website is the number one most important step you can make to promote your business. You can learn more about that on the Online Marketing page of this blog.

Today we’re going to talk about your Avon provided website. Your Avon website can also be a way your customers can get to know you. You want to make your Avon website to be as professional and filled with your personality as possible.

Your Personal Web Address

The first thing you need to do is get a Domain Name. This is the least expensive piece of Real Estate you can buy. My Avon website is but I purchased a web address called which is the address I give my customers and have on my business cards and on the back of my brochures. Having your own web address (domain name) makes it look like you really take your business seriously and you intend to be around for awhile.

You’d be surprised at how easy it is to create your own domain name. GoDaddy makes it easy to get your own web address. Right there in the center of the page is a place where you can type in the domain name you’d like to have. Keep in mind that it may take you many tries to find one that isn’t already taken. Once you find the one you want, you’ll purchase it and then set it up to automatically forward to For my website, when someone types in, they automatically go to is so much easier to remember, don’t you think? :)

Your Website Appearance

Before people will look at what you have to offer, they will want to connect to you. As you bring your personality onto the pages of your website, people will learn to know, like and trust you. If they know, like and trust you, they’re more likely to explore your website. They’re more likely to register as your customer and sign up for your newsletter or click your links to your sales and opportunity pages.

Your Avon eRepresentative Website

Avon provides an eRepresentative website for you to make it easy to run your business. Did you just accept the defaults, or have you customized the website to match your personality? Avon gives you the opportunity to customize your site in many ways. You have the ability to choose the color scheme and add your own picture. I strongly suggest you use a picture of YOU, not the products. When potential customers see your site without your picture, it sends out the signal that you’re not ‘really there’. Likewise, be sure to customize the “About Me”, the “Why I Love Avon” and the “Opportunity” pages. These allow your personality to show through and give your potential customers the chance to get to know you.

Many people scan web pages; they do not necessarily read them. So use small and on-topic paragraphs with careful headers and sub-headers with lots of blank space to make it easy to read. Be sure that the punctuation and spelling are checked and that everything looks great.

If you know html, there’s even more than you can do to fill your site with personality. If you don’t know html and you’d like to get some help with customizing your website, Carol’s Easy HTML is a great website that will get you up and running pretty quickly. She’ll show you how to add buttons and effects to your website. One word of caution though, personalizing your website is wonderful, but making it too flashy can be very distracting. So be careful and use moderation with the fancy objects.

Use the Blog on your eRepresentative website to talk about your favorite products. Give tips and advice to keep your readers coming back again and again. This is one place you can really shine if you put some effort into it. This is your chance to show that you are an expert and are uniquely qualified to help them with their needs. The best part is you don’t need to be an expert. Doing a little research about your favorite product while writing a blog article can help you learn as you go.

When a potential customer goes to and clicks on the link to find a Representative, they are given many Representatives to choose from. The more personality your site has and the more they can learn about you, the more likely they are to choose you.

Your story and your personality are the key to a successful site, and the more you can get your values, your commitment and your integrity across to your visitor, the better off you will be. Be the one who stands out!

I totally agree with this article. I personalized my site as soon as found the the place where I could.
I was unaware I could redirect from another site. I will definitely be brainstorming to come up with a good catchy name for a website. I also will be doing some html to fix my site because I’m not completely happy with what the Avon site allows me to do or not so.
Thank you so much for the insite.

Hi Lynn! I love your blog! Do you know if we can have Avon in the title of our customized web address?

Lynn April 17, 2010 at 7:29 pm

Hi Christine. Avon rules say you cannot have Avon in the title of your web address.

I started with Avon on Tuesday of last week. I have bought my domain name, personalized my Avon website using some of Carol’s html ( found her by doing a google search for (selling tips for avon reps) I also got together my first orders two of which followed my link on Facebook and purchased $200.00 worth online.
Now I have to blog and get more traffic to my site via the search engines. I see money ahead:) Your post ( found it by googling html for my personal avon website) you encouraged me to use my blog to get the traffic to my website too. I just have to make sure I use a lot of keywords in my blog posts so I will get picked up by the robots. by the way I knew a little about selling online before Avon I’m a Realtor and built my own website so that gave me a jump start. If I can be of help let to you or any of your readers I’m happy to share.

Have a beautiful day!

I’ve been a rep for a year now and this is article has motivated me all over again. I’ve visited your avon site and all I can say is wow! That’s what I’ve been wanting to do all along, just didn’t know how. I’ve read the “advertising & promotion policy” of what you can do and can’t do on line and well just floundered around. This is truly inspirational. All I can say is thank you!

Well I said I was going to read one article per day, but it’s going to take me a bit to put this one in action, so… maybe a few days before I get to the next article. Thanks for the pointers!

Hi Lynn,
Excellent info! I appericate all the information you share with us. Being new to Avon your blog inspires me, I have never tried anything like this. I have a friend that is very successful in this biz, and I never knew you could make the money she makes or the fun she is having.

Rhetta McBride October 10, 2013 at 8:00 pm

Your blog on the avon line and becoming a rep has been most helpful. Also the links you have provided were a big help too. Keep doing what you’re doing. :)
