10 Things To Do This Week For More Customers
Let’s talk about taking action this coming week.
Doing specific things that will get you more subscribers and ultimately, more CUSTOMERS. YES!
Direct sales, and your Avon business, is about selling products directly to consumers and building a network of customers and sales representatives.
At the heart of your Avon business success is the power of storytelling, leading with value, building relationships, and talking to more people.
Even though ways to market your business might change over time, these principles remain constant.
Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.
There are only 4 main steps:
- Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
- Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
- Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
- Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order
And then Rinse and Repeat.
It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.
We have our Daily 8 System to help you work on the activities that will help you grow your business.
The Daily 8 system is a proven formula
When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.
Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.
Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.
Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.
The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!
It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

Today We’ll Talk About 10 Things You Can Do This Week for More Customers
#1 – Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
We all have a place in our lives where we are comfortable. We are used to things being as they are.
But if we want to grow our Avon business, it’s time to take down the barriers and break free of your comfort zone!
Think back to anything new that you learned. No matter what it was – from tying your shoes, to heart surgery – there is always a point where you have to leave your comfort zone in order to get good at it.
#2 – Start with Who you Know
Get out a notebook. Writing it down in pen is much more powerful than typing.
Start with those who are closest to you… family, close friends, etc.
These are the people that you are just going to tell what you are doing, and ask if they will join you, or try your products, or if they will be a referral partner.
Next, let’s think about your warm market.
These are people you know who may or may not be interested. These people may be business oriented (who does your hair or nails, who is your insurance salesman, etc.), networking contacts, Facebook friends, LinkedIn friends, other social media friends, the contacts in your phone, your holiday card list, etc.
Don’t prejudge anybody. Just put them on your list.
Use this Memory jogger to help you think of more people, and keep adding names to your list.
You don’t have to contact them right away. Just add them to your list and you can come back to them later.
Your list should be a growing, evolving document that changes every day.
You will always be adding and deleting people from the list as you work with it.
Sort your list. At the top should be your closest friends and those you think will be more likely to be interested.
Now you can just contact a set number of people from your list every day. I suggest you work with a goal of 3-5 people per day.
All you’re going to do is reach out to them.
Let them know that you are now Selling Avon.
Ask them if they would like to see a brochure, and if so, get one to them (either physical or digital) and then schedule a time to follow-up.
If they are not interested, that’s totally ok too. Ask them if they know anyone who might be interested, or if they will keep you in mind for referrals later.
#3 – Continue Expanding Your Network
In order to really grow your Avon business, you need to get outside of the people you know and expand your network.
There are lots of ways to meet people: face-to-face, referrals, and even online.
So, get out there and meet people. Offer a brochure. Be sure to get their contact information so you can follow-up in 2-3 days.
Don’t just give them your business card or a brochure without getting their contact information.
Very few of the people you talk to will actually take the trouble to connect with you again. Be sure to get their name and number, and then follow-up.
And then as soon as you get home, put their information into your Customer Follow Up System.
If they expressed an interest in Selling Avon, and they don’t come into your business right away, add them to your Prospect Follow Up System so that you can stay in touch with them.
That way when they are ready to join your business, you’ll be on the top of their mind.

#4 – Create a Facebook Page
Even though your Facebook Page isn’t going to make you a lot of money per se, it is still considered a must have.
Facebook actually does not like it when you promote your business on your personal Facebook Page, so having a business page is pretty much a requirement if you want to promote your Avon business.
Facebook is a constant love-hate relationship for businesses. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out so that your followers will see your stuff, the algorithm changes again.
That said, you still need a Facebook page. This is your public page to promote your Avon business.
Having a Facebook Page will also allow you to advertise if and when you are ready to. You will be able to boost posts so that more of your followers, and your followers’ friends, can see what you post on your page.
#5 – Create a Facebook Group
If you haven’t already, set up a Facebook VIP Group for your customers and prospects.
Once you get that setup, please do not add people to the group without their permission!
It’s spammy. It’s creepy. It will completely turn people off of your business before you’ve even had a chance to share it with them. Please don’t do it.
Just create the group and invite people to join you.
Either post a Facebook status that announces your new group, tells them a little about what to expect in your group, and with the link to join your group.
Or message friends individually to ask if they’d like to be added.
Once you have a group, treat it well!
Give them extra deals. Post your monthly specials. Offer them value outside of just sales. Post about how you use your products. Post fun articles that relate to your industry. Ask your friends to take pictures with their products!
Have fun with your group, it will be a huge asset to help you grow your Avon business.
#6 – Have a Facebook Party
You could create a Mystery Hostess Party to generate some excitement.
A mystery hostess party is just a party where the hostess benefits are randomly given to one of the people who purchased items from the party.
You can find more information about how to Host a Facebook Party here.
This works well with this type of parties I host.
One of the incentives I use throughout my parties is the guests get points for doing certain activities throughout the party. The one with the most points can either be given a Grand Prize, or they could become the Mystery Hostess and earn the Hostess Rewards for that party.
Or, you could join and invite your guests our Team Facebook Parties. Currently, we are Hosting Team parties during even-numbered Campaigns. If you are a member of our Online Beauty Biz Facebook group, you are welcome to participate and invite your guests.
#7 – Create a Challenge
If you are looking to drum up some excitement about your Avon products, why not create a challenge that uses some of those products?
Use your imagination. There are all kinds of things you can do with this.
Maybe do a “Just Five Minutes” challenge where you show people a different five minute look using the makeup you sell every day.
#8 – Broadcast on Facebook Live
Yes, I already know what you’re going to say… that you’re afraid of live video.
But basically, everyone is. You just have to get over it. 🙂
Live video is such a powerful tool for promoting your Avon business!
People purchase from people that they know, like, and trust.
There’s no easier way (except in person) to get someone to know, like, and trust you than to show your authentic little self on a video.
Live video gives us the opportunity to “know someone in person” online.
Chat about the Campaign specials. Hold a Q&A chat. Do a tutorial with one of the products.
Do a giveaway in your VIP Group and do a Facebook Live broadcast where you pick the winner and announce it to the group.
Do a Bingo Game in your Group.
The sky is the limit but doing these Facebook Lives can make all the difference!
#9 – Give it Away for Free
Free samples are an effective strategy because it allows customers to try your product before they buy it.
It also makes them feel special when you give them something.
You can use free samples to:
- Introduce new products to your current customers and others who are unfamiliar with them.
- Create loyalty with existing customers and develop relationships
- Expand prospective customers’ knowledge about the products you provide.
- Establish repeat customers to generate more sales of new products.
Avon has a limited number of samples available. Hopefully they will offer more in the near future.
But there are other things you can do.
Add a Free Gift in Their Order
With my delivery customers I always add a free gift. It might be a small hand cream, a trial size product or whatever else I think they might enjoy.
Richard like to say it’s kind of like Cracker Jacks! Remember them? I don’t even know if they’re still around. You got a free gift in every box.
Play a Bingo Game in your VIP Group
People LOVE playing Bingo!
You’ll find some tips on how to play Bingo in your group here.
This is a great way to entertain your peeps while sharing your products with them at the same time.
The Bingo winner will receive a free product or product basket – whatever you can afford to do. The prize is totally up to you.
Offer Incentives in your Facebook Groups
Create a post in your Facebook Group asking for discussion. Offer a drawing for all who participated. Then go Live in your Group and draw the prize.
Use the Avon Promotion Tool to Create a Promotion
Avon allows you to use all kinds of promotions to grow your business.
They have Free Shipping promotions, Free Gift with Purchase promotions, and even Discount promotions.
At the current time, Avon has a promotion you can use which offers a Free A Box with $60 purchase.
Create a new promotion every campaign and include all your customers.
You could also offer a 10% Off Promotion for people who participated in your Bingo games or Facebook Incentives but didn’t win. It’s a great way to collect their email address so you can add them to your promotion.
#10 – Create an Email List to Stay in Touch with Your Customers
While the days of door-to-door sales aren’t entirely behind us, many Avon Representatives are increasingly using the internet to grow their business.
When you’re marketing your Avon Business online, an email list is one of the most valuable tools you can have.
An email list is a service that you sign up for that sends emails for you. It is not sending emails from your personal email account.
Here are just some of the benefits of setting up an email list:
Email is Personal
Email allows you to land into a user’s inbox. There is no ranking system limiting your reach. It is very direct and personal.
Email is Purposeful
To get updates from you, a user fills out a form to sign up for your email list and confirm their email address. Please do not just add people to your email list without their permission. Once you have their permission, you know they want to hear from you.
Email is One-on-One
People read email in the privacy of their inbox. The message is not on a public timeline or newsfeed.
They can ask you questions directly in private with confidence. This helps build trust and connection.
But most important… You Own your Email List
You do not own Facebook, Twitter, or Google. Your social media campaigns and SEO efforts can go to waste when these platforms change their policies.
On the other hand, you own your email list, and it is not influenced by decisions of other businesses.
Being successful in your Avon business doesn’t require that you be extraordinarily lucky, and it doesn’t require that you have a massive team supporting your efforts.
Really, it’s just about doing the work and taking the steps to be successful.
Have a favorite method that is not on this list? Tried several and found what works for you?
Chime in and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from you, and maybe we’ll use your ideas for another training!
