If you are still hesitating about the value of video for your Avon business, here are some facts that might convince you.
Adapting your content to work through video means that you can get visibility on high-growth channels like TikTok – with more than 1 billion monthly active users – and Instagram that pivoted to video in late 2021.
Another perfect brand new channel is Facebook Reels! It’s still brand new, so you can hop on early and take advantage of it.
Video can be used throughout your whole customer journey, from generating interest in your Avon brand and driving customer conversions, to keeping them on board and engaging with them.

I’ve got 6 tried and true ways you can use video to boost the revenue for your online business.
Before we get started, I need to share something really important.
You Cannot Get Good At Something Without Sucking At It First
It’s easy to give up when you try something new.
Whether it be picking up an instrument or trying to learn a new skill, you’ll probably not be very good at it.
And it can be easy to get frustrated and give up.
But no one said learning something new is going to be easy all the time.
It takes practice to become really proficient at something, and this applies to video marketing as well.
The only way to get good at something is to actually do it and to keep on doing it until it becomes second nature to you.
And so, as you view my videos below, know that I am also learning.
The good thing is when you see my videos, it will help you know that you can probably do an even better job with them. 🙂
Short-Form Video Marketing
What we are discussing here is short-form video marketing.
Short-form videos are less than 3 minutes. But even better, focus your videos on 15 seconds! Or 30 seconds if you need to go longer, but shorter is better.
People have a very short attention span. 15-second videos are the best!
Focus points needed for every video:
- Capture their attention with a catchy title (a hook).
- Hold their attention – things such as transitions help and moving text help keep their attention and stop them from scrolling.
- Good Message – be sure to give value – quality content, something that’s going to help them or answer their questions.
- Call to Action (CTA – every video should have one – What do you want them to do after watching your video – follow me, share, shop, etc.).
- Your authentic self. Just be yourself – that’s what will attract the right people to you.
6 Steps to Generate Avon Sales With Video Marketing!
1 – Tell Your Brand Story Using Video Marketing
Telling the story of your brand as an Avon Representative and your products is an effective way to let your audience know who you are and what you’re about.
Think about some of the biggest brands you know – most people know Facebook started in a college dorm or that Bill Gates started in his parents’ garage.
It’s not just billion-dollar companies that can use this tactic to generate more customers and income.
According to storytelling statistics done by headstream, if people love a brand story, 55% are more likely to buy the product, 44% will share the story, and 15% will immediately buy the product.
In addition, Research by Stackla shows that 79% of people say user-generated content highly impacts their purchasing decisions.
When you start to tell your Avon and product story, you’ll develop a deeper connection with your audience.
You’ll start to see an increase in leads, customers, and income when you start to put out videos about your story.
Maybe get started with a video to introduce yourself and who you help.

Yes, you are correct, it’s not exactly really good. But like you, I am learning.
And even more important, I’m willing to put myself out there and get out of my comfort zone. That’s because I know that’s what it’s going to take to really build my Avon business.

2 – Have Fun and Get Creative with Your Video Marketing
It shouldn’t always be about you and your Avon products.
Let them get to know you.
Use bold captions and words.
Push yourself beyond your comfort zone to tell your story.
If you can’t come up with any ideas, take an afternoon and scroll through your TikTok or Instagram Reels feed.
Feel free to save the songs to your TikTok or Instagram and use them as examples.
Lip Syncing is an easy and fun way to just play with the videos.
The great thing about video marketing is, it’s okay to copy what someone else is doing.
That’s because it’s not a copy/paste thing.
No matter what you do, you will add your own personality into the video, so it will never be exactly the same as someone else.
Here’s a funny video I created to just let people get to know me.
3 – Get Good at Creating Video Marketing With Catchy Titles
This is your hook. It’s what will get them to stop the scroll and watch your video.
What can you teach people? What do you have to offer?
Here are a few ideas for Titles.
- 5 ways to _____ without _____.
- 3 simple tips for _____.
- The best way to _____.
- 8 things to successfully _____.
- 3 reasons to ______.
- 3 biggest mistakes you’re making with _____ and how to fix them.
- 4 things you didn’t know about _____.
- How I _____ by _____.
A great hook addresses the problem & solution in the hook.
Be sure to add the text to your video so they see it right away.

4 – Be Sure to Include a Call to Action in Your Video Marketing
One of the last (and most important) steps to include in any video is the call to action (CTA).
This is where you close the deal, so to speak, and prompt your viewer to actually do something.
It’s the virtual handshake with the viewer.
If they’ve watched your video to completion, they’ve demonstrated clear interest (or they would’ve bounced ten seconds into the video).
People are distracted when on these video platforms. The next video is always calling.
You need to tell them what you want them to do next.
So now, you need to prompt “the ask” or call to action.
Here are some CTA suggestions:
- Comment below for info.
- Comment below with where you are from.
- Type Info in the comments if you’d like more info.
- Ask a question or ask them to vote on something in the comments.
- Follow Me
- Share this Video
- Link in Bio
You can even use a sticker for that call to action.

5 – Use Transitions in Your Video Marketing to Keep Them Watching
The question every video marketer has at some point is, what actually makes a marketing video engaging.
Transitions are perfect for this.
Video Transitions serve a purpose, and that is to move the video along and keep pace with either the music or what the person is saying.
Transitions can also be used to reveal something new, like an appearance change, or to signal the speaker is moving onto the next topic.
But when it really gets down to it, transitions help keep your viewer engaged.
If you’ve been watching short-form videos at all, you probably noticed all kinds of transitions.
People are jumping into the video, waving their hand over the lens and then they have a different outfit when they pull back their hand, the video zooms in and out, etc.
Here’s how to do a simple TikTok transition:
- Use one hand to hold your phone.
- Turn your camera so it’s on selfie mode.
- Press the record button.
- Say or do whatever you would like to say or do.
- Once you’re finished talking, use your free hand to cover the phone’s camera.
- Stop recording.
- Set up your next shot by moving elsewhere or getting ready to start speaking again.
- With your hand still on the camera, start recording again.
- As you start speaking, move your hand away from the camera.
- Finish the clip and stop recording.
- Play the clip back on the next screen to make sure the transition looks smooth.
- Either continue recording or publish the video!
Google and YouTube can be your best friend while learning how to do these.

6 – Be Sure to Follow Up & Engage with Your Followers
Bottom line, if you’re working with video marketing, the whole idea is to get leads for your business.
In most video platforms you get one link in your bio.
I use Shuffle for my link because I can have buttons to Sell Avon, Buy Avon, Learn More about Me, etc.

This way I can put buttons for everything I might be promoting on social media to make it easy for my prospect to find it.
Be sure to respond to every comment, even if it’s just a Thanks for watching my video.
If they seem to want more information, respond to their comment with, “Hey, I just sent you a message. Let me know what you think.” Or something to that effect.
Ask questions to clarify what they’re looking for and whether what you have is a fit for them.
Always work to make that person feel good. Your job is to edify them and make them feel special.
Take it off your Facebook wall.
Any conversations about your products or opportunity should be done in messenger.
Be sure to go back and check your videos for messages. You don’t want to miss out on any potential new customer or team member.
If you ask your viewers to engage with your video content, you should return the favor.
Monitor viewer comments on your videos, reply promptly to any questions and join discussions.
Opening the lines of communication with your viewers will encourage more engagement, boost the credibility of your channel, and could even translate to more Avon sales and recruits.
