7 Steps To Help You Successfully Launch Your Avon Business
Welcome to Avon. Maybe you’re a brand new Representative just getting started. …Or maybe you’ve been with Avon for a while and looking for a way to relaunch or kick start your business into gear.
Either way, there are lots of things you can do.
If you haven’t already, the first thing you should do it go to AvonNow.com and login with your account number and password. This is where you will manage your Avon business.
And then you’ll want to setup your personal Online Store.
There are all kinds of training and information in this site, so take some time to look around.
Here are some steps for successfully launching your new Avon business:
Step 1 – Build Anticipation and Excitement
Immediately, the day you sign, up, on your Facebook and post something like:
I’m so excited!! I just started my own business!!
Don’t mention Avon in your post yet. Wait and let the post create some excitement. You want your friends to be curious. Let a bunch of friends comment and congratulate you and ask what your business is.
Hold back. Don’t answer yet. Let the curiosity build.
After you’ve really gotten some excitement on the post, reply back to let them know you’ll be living the Beauty Boss life as an Avon Representative.
Tell them Avon has a beautiful New Digital Brochure and ask if anyone would like a link.
Or ask them if they would like a link to your Avon Online Store.
Don’t just publish the link to either your Digital Brochure or Online Store yet. Wait until they say they want it.

Step 2 – Check Out Your Avon Online Store And Really Get To Know It
Your web store is a HUGE potential source of EASY EARNINGS for you!
Your Online Store website address will look like YourAvon.com/YOURID – YOURID = Your Name, or anything you want it to be.
You can change the YOURID part if you want, but once it is setup, you really don’t want to change it again. Anybody you’ve given out the old Online Store address will not be able to find you if you change it.
Be sure to read this post to learn how to set up the Direct Delivery vs. Representative Delivery options.
When customers order through your web store – and either select Direct Delivery or if you’ve set your store up for Direct Delivery – they shop just like any other shopping website.
They will pay for their order at the time they place it, Avon will ship the products directly to them, and then Avon will pay you your commission.
Be sure to setup Direct Deposit by logging into AvonNow.com and clicking on My Account / Get Paid by Avon. There are two places where you will want to fill out your bank account information.
If you have Direct Deposit setup, Avon will deposit your earnings from your Direct Delivery Orders into your Bank 2 days after the order ships. (If you have a balance with Avon, the credit will be applied there first).
You get the earnings without having to take their order, collect their payment, and delivering their order.
You want to be 100% comfortable with how to use this valuable tool and how to tell your potential customers how to use it.
The very best way to get to know your web store… Go to your personal web store and PLACE AN ORDER just like a customer. Have it Direct Delivered to yourself.
It doesn’t matter what you order. Order anything you’d like. The size of the order doesn’t matter.
Just give yourself the full experience of using your web store so that you fully understand how it works – from the ordering process, the checkout options, the email confirmation, how you (as a representative) get notified of the order, how you (as a customer) get notified of shipping, how the items are packaged, and how you (as a representative) get your earnings!
If you haven’t changed your store to Direct Delivery only, go in and place another order via Representative Delivery so you can see how that process works. In this case, the order will show up in your orders for you to place with Avon. You can cancel it at this point if you want.
The key is to learn how it works. Don’t be afraid to try everything.
There are a few things you want to know about shopping your web store:
Theirs is ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING to your customers on orders of $60 or more. If your customer orders $60 or more, you will pay for their shipping. It will be deducted from your earnings. If the order is less than $60, your customer will pay the shipping cost, or there are expedited rates available as well.
With Avon’s new Same Pay, Every Way program, brochure sales & online orders from your Avon Online Store website are all combined to determine your total sales for that campaign.
This means your Online Store orders count towards your sales goals for the Pathway to Premier Program. That means all your Online Store Orders, as well as your personal orders, count towards this incentive
Also, you can offer your new customers discounts, free shipping, or samples via the Promotion Tool on AvonNow.com. You will want to take the training in Avon U to learn how to best use this tool.
Step 3 – It’s Time to Promote Your Web Store And Introduce It To Your Potential Customers
Now that YOU know exactly how your web store works, go ahead and introduce it to everyone you know!
Friends and family anywhere in the country can shop your web store and have it shipped directly to them!
This is easy earnings for you, and is quickly becoming the way of the future. Gone are the days of having to knock on doors and demonstrate products – although you still can if that’s how you want to work your business. 🙂
Write a post on Facebook to let everyone know that you’re officially an Avon Representative and that your web store is now open for business!
Mention the amazing variety of products. Share your web store link and tell them about FREE shipping on orders of $60 or more. For example, you might write:
In case you didn’t see my earlier post about my new business, I’m excited to announce that I’m an Avon representative now! Soon I’ll have brochures and samples to give out, but in the mean time, check out my Avon Online Store or ask me about our new Digital Brochure. You’re not going to believe all the great items Avon now offers! (Mention something specific you’re excited about). Check it out! You’ll get FREE shipping on orders of $60 or more! http://youravon.com/lynnhuber (of course you’ll change lynnhuber to your actual link).
Step 4 – Go Live!
I HIGHLY recommend trying this idea!
When your starter kit arrives, don’t open it by yourself. Open it on a LIVE video on Facebook!!! Facebook LIVE can be a powerful way to connect with your potential customers and generate interest and excitement.
When you go live, all your friends are immediately notified that you are live. They’re going to be curious about what you’re doing on video, and many will click through to watch you.
Live on video; open your kit for the first time. Take out each item one by one and show everyone what you received in your kit. Be sure to let your excitement shine through.
As you pull out the brochures, show the beautiful covers. Ask people to comment if they’d like you to drop off or mail a brochure to them. Flip through one of the brochures and talk about the great things you see on the pages.
Pull out the samples and talk about what products you have samples available for. You can even open a fragrance sample and talk about how wonderful it smells, or try one of the little lipstick samples.
If you’re excited about what you’re doing, your potential customers will get excited too.
Take out the full-size products. Try the lotion on your hands. Talk about how great it feels.
Wrap up your video by letting people know how excited you are about your new venture.
Give out your Avon Online Store web address and let them know how easy it is to shop online. Most important – have fun and be yourself!
Step 5 – Host a Grand Opening Event
Plan a Grand Opening party in your home to launch your Avon business. Create a theme and invite a few friends over and ask them to bring a friend.
Offer very light refreshments – maybe snacks and a beverage. You want your Avon to be the highlight of the event, not the food.
Make a nice display using whatever Avon samples and products you have available. Talk about the products and let your guests try them while shopping the brochures.
Consider offering a special Grand Opening discount or special. You could offer something like 10% off all orders on the day of the Grand Opening only. It’s really up to you.
Another option is to host an online Grand Opening Party on Facebook. Set up a Facebook group for the party and add your friends.
Then you can use the group to promote some of the great Avon products and encourage your online guests to shop your web store.

Step 6 – Invite Customers Into Your Store
Your Avon business may not have a physical storefront, but you DO have a store! Your store is in the brochures – whether you have the physical brochure or the digital brochure version.
If you want people to shop from you, your store must be open and you need to invite them in. In my opinion, your Avon brochure is your most valuable expense.
Label your brochures with your contact information and make sure everyone gets one.
A few days after giving out a brochure to someone, it is crucial that you follow-up with them. Following up is great customer service. It shows them you care about them.
Ask them if they have any questions about what’s in the brochure. Tell them about Avon’s product guarantee. Point out a great deal or something you think they’ll love, and ask them if there’s anything they’d like you to order for them this campaign. You can even consider sweetening the pot with a little discount or free gift with their first order.
Be sure to follow up with everyone 2-3 days before your order is due. Call/text/email… whatever works best for you. But trust me, that follow up will make all the difference.
You don’t have to be pushy; you just have to check in to see if they had an order. Many times my customer will thank me for following up because they did want something but forgot.
Step 7 – Work your business as if you spent $50,000 to Start your Business and not just the cost of your appointment kit
If you take this seriously, you will work hard and stay focused.
If you really had spent $50,000 to start your business, you wouldn’t let anything get in the way of your success.
You would be 100% committed. If you couldn’t figure something out, you would research it and you would learn whatever was necessary to grow your business.
It takes time and money to grow a business. We are so lucky that we have this opportunity with such a low startup cost.
Stay focused on the bigger picture. You can have whatever you want, and are willing to work for, with your Avon business. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it!
