In your business, you will  find yourself dealing with many challenges.

Getting your own business off the ground is no small task.

And it comes with challenges and other hurdles that will make you doubt yourself and the possibility of achieving your own end goals, in your business or otherwise.

Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.

There are only 4 main steps:

  1. Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
  2. Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
  3. Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
  4. Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order

And then Rinse and Repeat.

It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

Today We’ll Talk About Maintaining That Positive Outlook

Challenges are just a part of your business.  In fact, they’re a part of life.

You’ve got to find a way to stay positive even when you are dealing with difficulties.

Maintaining a positive attitude will make all the difference whether you want to achieve something specific or simply improve the quality of your life.

I think we all know the power of positive thinking and how important it is, but it’s often easier said than done.

If you start to face these challenges with a negative attitude, then you’re going to increase your chances of failure.

Adopting a more positive outlook on what you’re doing, will increase your chances of success.  It’s just that simple

Attitude Makes all the Difference

Some people don’t believe that attitude really makes a difference.

But, without a positive attitude, you’re not going to be doing as well as you think you are.

It has been shown time and time again that those who are more positive are more likely to be successful in whatever they pursue.

A large part of this is due to what’s sometimes known as a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If you believe that won’t be successful, then you probably won’t put in as much effort, which inevitably leads to not achieving that success.

You fail – not because you were right in your assumptions, but rather because you believed those assumptions, which caused you to change the way you work.

Having a negative attitude about your business or your own abilities will lead to that self-fulfilling prophecy.

If you just started your Avon business, but you have serious doubts about it being successful and you don’t anticipate it lasting, then you’re certainly not going to give it your all.

Why would you give your all in something that you don’t believe in?

By not giving 100% of your effort, your business ends up failing and you have proven yourself right.

Instead, a positive outlook will motivate you through the toughest times.

But here’s the key…  you have to really believe in the positive outlook.

If you’re just phoning it in, when times get tough, you’re going to find yourself unable to move past the tougher obstacles that you’re faced with.

When you truly believe that the project you’re working on or the business you’re starting will work out, then you won’t hesitate to put massive effort into it.

You believe in yourself and your business and know that the effort will be worth it.

Tips For Maintaining a Positive Attitude Every Day

1 – You Determine Your Reality

It’s your choice.  You determine your reality by the way you react.

When something happens, you get to choose whether you’re going to see a positive or negative situation and react accordingly.

For example, say you lose your job.  That’s quite a challenge for sure!

Your first reaction will likely be one of anger, frustration and hopelessness.

And yes, you’ll probably need to work through some of that and feel the pain.

But what if you choose to look at the experience as an opportunity?

Now you are free to find a job where you will be able to learn new skills or make more money.

Or maybe you’ll now have the freedom to work on your business full-time?

Maybe, even though you’re going through hard times now, it works out even better for you and you are happier.

2 – Start Your Day Strong

When you have to drag yourself out of bed, it sets a negative state of mind for your entire day.

What if, instead, you created a morning ritual that reinforces how great life is and how happy you are to be alive?

When I used to have to get up at 5am every day for my job, I had a CD in my alarm that played a song, Wake Up and Make Your Dreams Come True!

It was actually a quite powerful way to start my day.

Find a ritual that works for you.  It might be a wake-up song, or maybe a few minutes of reading or listening to something positive.

Whether you have 1 minute, 15 minutes, or an hour to dedicate to a ritual, you can start your day in a way that makes you feel empowered and ready for the day.

3 – Study Positivity

There are tons of amazing books, podcasts and videos for you to absorb from people who are inspiring and living the life of their dreams.

Tap into their positive emotions and their experience by learning what they know and how they created the lives they want.

4 – Watch Your Language

Your language is critical when it comes to your thoughts.

Little changes can change the way you think and how you act.

When someone asks how you are doing, do you answer with “fine” or “Not too bad”?

You might be better served to answer with “great,” “fantastic,” or amazing.”

This reinforces the thoughts that your life is great, and it also helps shift the other person to more positive thoughts as well.

Also, watch out for your mind chatter, that conversation that goes on all day in your mind.

Is that language positive or negative?

If you’re finding it to be more negative, work to pay attention and catch yourself and change it to something positive.  Over time it will get better.

Or tap into some mindfulness meditation to help your self-talk become more of a personal cheerleader.

5 – Stop Negative Thoughts in Their Tracks

We can’t always be positive.  Negative thoughts are going to bubble up from time to time.

The more you practice stopping the negative thoughts, the less often you will receive them.

Pay attention to your thoughts, and when you notice them, stop them.

The idea is to interrupt your current thought pattern and shift it to a more positive outlook.

One way to do this is to set a visual or auditory cue.

It can be something as simple as a bracelet you wear each day or the sound of a car passing outside your window.

Whenever you see or hear the cue, use it to shift your thoughts to something positive.

6 – Hang out with Positive People

It’s been said that you are the similar of the five people you spend the most time with.

This is true in every area of your life.

So, if you want to be more fit, then start to hang out with fit people.

Want to be more successful in your business?  Then hang out with successful Representatives.

Want to be more positive?  Then make sure you are hanging out with positive people.

7 – Focus on Gratitude

By focusing on what you’re grateful for, and appreciating others for a job well done, their outfit, or their smile, you start to spread gratitude and positivity.

There are so many things to be grateful for.  And so many times we don’t even notice them because of a negative comment or event.

It can help to keep a gratitude journal where you jot down things you are grateful for each night or during the day.

Stop complaining and focus on all of the good things that others are doing around you.

8 – Garbage In, Garbage Out

This expression comes from my computer experience, but it refers to the fact that the result is only as good as the input.

If you’re feeding yourself with negativity all day long, then it’s pretty obvious you’re going to be feeling negative as well.

Work to throw out the trash.  Try to eliminate as much negativity as you can from your life and watch how much easier it is to maintain your positive attitude.

9 – Recharge Your Batteries

Sometimes you just have to take the time to recharge.

This could mean taking a few hours on a weekend to read a positive book or getting away for a vacation.

If you’re not in a position to travel (Covid isn’t helping this at all), take a staycation where you simply switch off from the outside world and spend time doing the things you love.

Final Thoughts

These tips are no use to you for maintaining your positive attitude unless you implement them into your life.

So, get started.  You can start small and pick one or two to work on right now.

Then over time, start implementing the other tips and before you know it, your positivity will soar!

And as your positivity increases, so will your business!
