The Art of Planning and Preparation In Your Avon Business

The Art of Planning and Preparation In Your Avon Business

The Art of Planning and Preparation In Your Avon Business

Nobody was born with planning and preparation skills.

Anyone who plans before tackling anything had to learn why and how to do it.

But planning and preparation can make all the difference in your Avon business success.

Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.

There are only 4 main steps:

  1. Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
  2. Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
  3. Following up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
  4. Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order

And then Rinse and Repeat.

It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

We have our Daily 8 System to help you work on the activities that will help you grow your business.

The Daily 8 system is a proven formula

When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.

Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.

Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.

Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.

The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!

It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

Today We’ll Talk About The Art Of Planning And Preparation In Your Avon Business

Planning and preparation are critical to your Avon business success.

So, if you’re not doing it already, then this is your call to action.

First of all, look at each part of your work as a system or a series of steps.

Evaluate The Steps You Need to Add To Your Avon Business

1 – Use the Avon Campaign Calendar to Determine What Activities You Need to Do.

Make sure you understand the Avon Campaign Calendar.

You can find it in Avon.com under Manage Business / Campaign Calendar.  Or click here.

2 – Plan the Day you will Place your Avon Order.

I suggest you place one order per campaign if possible.

It will save you money on shipping, etc. and you’ll be able to streamline your campaign.

You can pick any day during the two weeks of the Campaign, whatever works for you.

I place my order on the first day of the campaign, mostly because that’s just what I’m used to.

You can place your order on the first Friday of each campaign, or the last Friday, or any day you choose.

Some Reps place their orders once per week.  If that works for you, you have that option.

And then just accumulate your delivery orders and place them all at the same time, every week or every other week.

If you have one or two set days of the week that you place your order, it’s easier to get your customers used to your schedule.

3 – Plan the Day you will Distribute Your Brochures / Digital Brochure Links

If you are using Campaign Mailer, find a schedule that works for you.

I personally use the E-Mailer schedule as I want the brochures to get to my customers just before the campaign starts.

Once you have that date, schedule it on your calendar or task manager for every other Thursday (or whatever day your schedule dictates).

If you are working with the Digital Brochure, I have found that it works best to text my customers on the same day every week – once to welcome them to the new campaign, and once in the middle of the campaign to remind them to look at it.

Schedule it on your calendar or task manager as a recurring weekly event.

4 – Plan the Day Your Follow-ups will go out.

For most of my customers, I have them on my Digital Brochure Text list because I am building mostly online.  So I text them weekly as stated in #3 above.

For my delivery customers, I schedule a text to go out on Monday before my order goes in, reminding them to let me know by Tuesday if they need anything.

Schedule those dates on your calendar or task manager.

5 – Determine what other Activities You Need to Build Your Business

What else will you be doing to grow your business?

Going out and talking to people you meet?  Working to meet people on social media?  Events?

There are all kinds of things you can do to grow your business.

Schedule them on your calendar or task manager.

Evaluate What You’re Already Doing

Then, think of how you can trim down and get rid of the steps that do not contribute to the whole process leading to success, and also think of how you can better approach the steps that you do include in the system.

1 – Figure out what you are spending your time on.

Make a record of how you spend your time during a normal, average working week.

2 – Get a piece of paper or a notebook/journal where you will put all your plans.

In this space, all your information will be confidential, so don’t be afraid to note everything down.  Nobody will see it but you.

The more accurate you are in describing your record, the more it will be able to help you out.

3 – Ask yourself where and how you are spending your limited and precious time.

Are you spending too much time on social media or at the coffee shop?

Do you always come to work late?

Are you always distracted or interrupted?

Note: According to research, an average person needs about ten minutes to get back to where they were in their work after they were interrupted.

With that said, eight interruptions can easily rob you of more than an hour a day apart from the time each one actually takes.

Once you see a clearer view of where your time goes, there’s a good chance that you’ll be motivated to fix your schedule in such a way that works for you.

In short, this exercise will help you become more productive.

Here Are Some Benefits To Increased Productivity

  • You accomplish more tasks each day.
  • You decrease anxiety and stress because you have less work to carry over each day.
  • You are able to start on tomorrow’s work in a timely manner.
  • You gain more energy and better focus because you stop cramming and getting stressed out.

These are only some of the benefits of improving your productivity, but they can tremendously help you out in your Avon business journey.

One Important Tip For Your Avon Business Planning

You don’t want to go all out in the beginning, especially if this is a new habit for you.

Instead, you can pick one or two things that you want to improve, like maybe limiting your time on social media to half an hour a day instead of several hours.

Then, after a month or so, you can add more habits into your life and allow them to develop over time.

Of course, whenever you are creating changes in the process of your daily life, you want to consider whether or not they may have an impact on other people.

You should be considerate of other people’s feelings and needs if you want to be successful in any field that you are in, really.

For example, if you want to make an effort to shorten or eliminate distractions by a particular person, try to find a pleasant way to do it.

You can try and tell them nicely that during work hours, you want to be focused and not interrupted and that you can catch up later in the day instead.

The More You Work On Planning, The Better You Will Get

The more benefits you experience as you change your system, the more encouraged you will be in improving other areas of your life.

Another important tip is that you should avoid setting records for yourself as this can discourage you if you fail to achieve them.

Instead, try to find satisfaction in achieving more with less effort.

Remember that the goal is to really have a balanced, highly enjoyable life.

Here Are Other Things You Need To Prepare For More Success In Your Avon Business:

Improve your knowledge about your products

Spend some time in Avon U.  Attend all Avon Online Trainings (or watch the replays if that’s more effective for you and your time).

Keep in mind that the better you know and understand the benefits of your products or services, the more valuable the information you can give to your customers.

Learn all you can about your target consumers

Always have an open mind when dealing with them as everyone has their own beliefs and views in life.

Some of the ways that you can do to express respect to them are:

  • By listening to them carefully and intentionally.
  • By listening even if their opinions are different from yours.
  • By providing them assistance if they need it.

Watch out for your competitors and take some time to study their products.

This way, you can learn what their salespeople may be doing better than you and you can improve on that.

Check your smile

Who wants to buy from salespeople who look like they’re having the gloomiest of days? Nobody.

So, it’s very important to always have a smile on your face.

Sure, maybe you think that grimace or artificial smile looks pretty appealing to others, but I’m here to tell you that you need to improve it.

Just take a few minutes in your bathroom every morning and look at your smile.

Practice smiling in a genuine way, not forced and pretentious.

Pay close attention

One of the best ways that you can kill a connection between you and a potential customer is by expressing through your body language that you are not interested in talking to them at all.

You may be doing this by talking to someone else alongside them or focusing on other parts of your body.

Even looking at something else can make the other person feel like you’re not even paying attention to their presence.

Remember the names of your customers

Don’t we all find it impressive when someone remembers our name even if we only met them once?

Calling people by their name is a very simple yet very powerful way to create a good impression and establish a good relationship.

It can make them feel appreciated and seen, and not just another way to earn money.
