Direct Sales and Network Marketing is exploding right now in the midst of the Covid Pandemic.

My own personal Avon business took a hit, for sure, at the beginning of the pandemic.

But now it is booming.  I’m seeing a huge increase in New Representatives joining our team, and my sales are going up.

Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.

There are only 4 main steps:

  1. Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
  2. Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
  3. Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
  4. Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order

And then Rinse and Repeat.

It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

Today We’ll Talk About How to Survive and Thrive During Covid

Let’s take a look about how you can find ways to continue to grow your Avon business in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.

We all already know that things happen, and life isn’t fair.

Our Success in our Avon business, and in life, is not based on what happens to us.

In fact, our success is based on only 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we respond to what happens to us.

The world is full of people who experience unfairness, and many of them overcome it, while many others do not.

People who overcome significant unfairness, like a bad childhood, poor health, or natural disasters, accept that they didn’t cause the unfairness.

But they did the work to move beyond it.

There are those who’ve not only overcome the unfairness that was dealt to them, but they became successful in spite of it.

These people don’t use life’s unfairness as an excuse for poor behavior or lack of motivation.

Instead, they work hard at creating better circumstances for themselves.

And that’s what we all need to do.

Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life and Your Business!

BUT I’m too busy.

BUT I’m broke.

BUT I have kids.

BUT I’ve failed before.

BUT I’m from a small town.

BUT I don’t have many friends.

BUT I work too many long hours.

BUT I don’t know enough people.

BUT I’m not good at social media.

BUT I already have a job.

BUT I’m afraid.

BUT We’re in the middle of a pandemic.

Let’s look at some ways to build your Avon business in these times.

Provide Excellent Customer Service

The first step in caring is to reach out—not in marketing or overt attempts to gain a competitive edge, but to offer genuine support.

One of the benefits of Selling Avon is that you build relationships with your customers.

They have you as their Representative.  They know you and trust you.

While we can’t go out and congregate in groups, we are still able to provide our customers with the same service we’ve always provided.

Instead of making deliveries and going inside to have coffee with our customers, these days it will be more about collecting payment electronically and dropping their order off at their door.  There’s no need for personal contact.

One of the great things about Avon right now is they are providing more and more products that people need every day.

We have new items such as mops, batteries, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent…

People need these products anyway.  They may be broke and cutting back, but they still need these products.

You are able to provide them the products they need, delivered to their door either via you with contactless delivery or online.

Your customers can safely order from our Avon provided Online Store as well.  Products will be shipped directly to them, and you will be paid your commission 2 days later.

Be sure to continue to get brochures out to every customer, and follow-up with every customer every campaign.  Here’s a post on how to automate many of these tasks so you can do them while staying at home.

Build Your Avon Business Online

Find New Ways to Connect With Customers

Go live on Facebook.  People need to see you and what you’re doing.

Start working on your Facebook Business page if you haven’t done that already.

You want to add Zoom to your arsenal. Zoom is fast becoming the default video conferencing app across the world.

You can get it for Free here.  The free version is plenty to help you get started.

Host Virtual Parties on Facebook or otherwise.

You can create a private Facebook Group and schedule posts over the course of an hour.  Here’s a training on how to do that.

Or you can do live party presentation with a Facebook Live or Zoom Call.

The biggest advantage to online parties is everyone can attend and you no longer have geographic limitations for your parties.

Send a greeting card to let your customer know they are on your mind and that you appreciate them.

I look for pictures that people post on Facebook and put them on the front of a card and send it to them.  My customers, prospects, even friends, love these.

You can just keep some note cards handy and write them personally if you choose.

Or you can use a service like SendOutCards to make it easy and to be able to add those pictures.

That thing you’ve been putting off?! The website? Email marketing? Your blog? Instagram? Batching your social posts? Now is the time to get to work!

Now that you have the time, maybe you’d like to start building your blog.

The one caution I have about blogging though, is it takes time to build a blog and build authority with the search engines.  It will help you grow your business over time but will not help you with your immediate income needs.

Be Sure to Offer the Avon Opportunity

Every day, more and more people are struggling financially.

Hours have been cut, and jobs lost – at least temporarily.

Avon offers people impacted by the crisis a way to make some additional income during this difficult time.

And right now, you can offer that for FREE!  Avon is offering free sign-ups through C-09, 2021, so be sure to take advantage of that.

I want to stress here that it’s super important to be sensitive and compassionate.

It would not be wise to come across as though you want to capitalize on their hardship. Make clear that you are offering an option to help them.

It’s also important not to over-promise on your business opportunity.

Don’t make big income claims – they will have to put in some work into their new business.

But do share with them how they can earn over $3,000 in their first couple of months with Avon’s Pathway to Premier program.

I have even created a new tracking sheet that you can share with them to help them get there.

Help them get off to a great start by providing them some brochures and tips to get started right away.  I send a welcome kit to every new team member.

It’s just what I do anyway, but a welcome kit is especially helpful during these times because it shows that you’re not just out to capitalize on their hardships.  Instead, you are helping them.

Steps to Sign Up a New Representative

If someone is interested in Joining Avon, they can go to your Avon Online Store and click on Become a Rep.

Or, you can send them directly to the Sign Up Link –

Note, if you are brand new yourself, you will need to wait 24 hours before the computer will be ready for you to sign up a new Representative.

Having them click on “Become a Rep” from your own Avon Online Store is the very best way to get someone signed up and on your team.

If you have them on the phone, it’s even better for you to say, “If you’re ready, I can get you signed up right now.”

Then while they’re on the phone with you, YOU go to Your Avon Website and you click on Become a Rep and you get them signed up – just like a Customer Service Representative.

If you do it for them, you know it will be done now.  You never know what’s going to happen between them telling you they are going to go sign up and when they actually do.

If you have any problems, there is a chat function on the website where you can chat with Avon Customer Service. Or you can call Avon at 866-513-2866.

You can even 3-way your new potential representative into the Avon Customer Service phone number, and a Customer Service Representative will help you get them signed up.

Increase your Knowledge

Go through the training on Avon U.  This is a great opportunity to find the time if you haven’t already done it.  Learn as much as you can.

Go back through the Avon USA Representatives Facebook Page and watch their Live Videos.  You’ll learn tons about the new products and how to promote them.

We’re fortunate with Avon that we can be flexible in how we conduct our business.

Using technology, we can be connected to our team members, our customers and our prospects – even when we’re confined to our homes.
