Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.

There are only 4 main steps:

  1. Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
  2. Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
  3. Following up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
  4. Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order

And then Rinse and Repeat.

It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

Reach Your Goals During The Last Campaign Of The Year.

Whether you sell online, or more face-to-face, last-minute sales can help you recover from a slump to reach your year-end goals.

All you need to know is what works and what doesn’t.

Here Are Six Tips You Can Implement Today To Boost Your Last-Minute Sales and Make It Happen.

 1 – Run a Flash Sale

Avon offers WOW Deals each campaign.

These are a great way to promote additional sales, especially since your customer is getting over $100 in products for only $50.

The key is to plan an effective marketing and promotion strategy.

The more people you can get your WOW Deal in front of, the more sales you will make.

2 – Use Text Message Marketing to Boost Last-Minute Sales

Using text message marketing is a great way to bring attention to your flash sales and boost last-minute sales.

On average, U.S. mobile users spend 26 minutes per day texting compared to 21 minutes per day calling.

As well, 77% of consumers have said they’ve opted for a brand’s text messages to receive coupons or deals.

What’s even more compelling is the fact that 82% of text messages are read within 5 minutes.

This makes them ideal for notifying customers about last-minute sales or updating them about their orders after they’ve bought your products.

For example, you can ask them to sign up to your Text list to receive exclusive coupons or sales alerts.

Text them a link to the appropriate page on your Avon Online Store so they can get more details about the special offer you are promoting.

3 – Leverage Self-Serve Ad Platforms

Leveraging self-serve advertising is another option to increase last-minute sales.

No longer do you need to hire expensive ad agencies or media strategists to create ad campaigns.

Today, platforms like search engines and social media make it easy to create ads yourself.

Google Ads is particularly great for promoting last-minute sales to potential customers.

More than 160 billion Google searches take place every month, and 49 percent of people say they would click on text ads.

The key to getting sales is targeting keywords that show buying intent.

For example, one of Avon’s top sellers is skin care. You wouldn’t want to focus on all users searching for “skin care.” It would be better to target people looking for “best skin care products,” or “best cream for lines and wrinkles” instead.

You also want to make your ads appeal to mobile users.

Google recommends that you add a compelling call to action with your keywords.

Test out different headlines and descriptions to see what works best.

4 – Run an Online Contest

If you want to take things further, you can run an online contest to boost your last-minute sales. Contests aren’t anything new or innovative, but they still work.

Since we’re up against a deadline, you could offer an incentive for anyone who places an order in your Avon Online Store.

It could be a drawing that everyone who purchases gets entered into.

Or it could be a free gift for everyone who orders at least $XX.  You can use Avon’s provided Promotion Tool for this.

It’s okay to promote that you’re working towards a goal and are offering this special incentive to help you achieve it.

By using a time-bound offer, you’ll create a sense of urgency for contest participants. This, in turn, will lead to them making a purchase within your specified time frame.

5 – Take Advantage of Avon’s Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

Tell your customers to mark their calendars!

6 – Offer Your Own Special Deal

One of my friends, Theresa Paul, came up with a Congratulations It’s Twins promotion that works well when you’re hitting crunch time to reach a goal.

In fact, this incentive helped her move over $17,000 of product in ONE campaign!!

Originally, the offer was B1G1 Free, but she has modified it so it will work with Avon’s current commission structure.

Theresa has been with Avon a long time, and she’s probably earning 45% commission, so the way this incentive is worded works for her.

You can change it to work for you.

If you’re new and are earning 25% on beauty products, you can offer this incentive with 25% off the “twin item.”  Or it could be 30% or 40% – whatever works best for you, and/or will help you get closer to your goal.

When you are struggling to reach a goal at the last minute, this incentive works! 

I used it several years ago, and it helped me sell $3,000 in one campaign during a time when my orders were typically $500-$600 per campaign.

Every Beauty product my customers order they got doubled…. thus “TWINS”. back then earnings structure was different, and I gave them the TWIN free…. but now that won’t work, so now we’ll be offering BUY ONE get the “TWIN” for HALF OFF.

IF they order a day cream, they get a day cream HALF OFF.

WHEN they order a black eyeliner, they get a black eyeliner HALF OFF.

If they order a vanilla shower gel, they get a vanilla shower HALF OFF.

Now… if they want a blue eyeliner and a black one… they must order one of each and get the “TWIN” HALF OFF.

WHY DO IT THIS WAY?

To up the sales a little… kind of force the sales. (it’s up to you how you want to do this, but I needed HUGE numbers to make it happen)

Ohhhh… the online customers … back then I didn’t have too many.

Now, that HALF PRICE offer won’t work online, you’ll have to ship those products to the online customer.

Back then I was thinking… What else could I do to sweeten the deal? I had just earned a 32” flat-screen TV… that was a big deal then, So I was raffling that off.

For every $25 spent they got an entry. (I upped that to $40 in the flyer example above)

Share the book with a friend and bring me a new customer and she gets entries too with her $40 orders. AND my customer got additional entries.

You don’t have to give away a Color TV

You could do a $50 Gas card or a gift card to a local business… be creative!!

I told everyone what I was doing and why I was doing it.

So, I bought a thousand or so brochures, printed up flyers for each one… passed them out to my customers, friends, strangers… We hung them on doors and tossed them on driveways and gave them to people in businesses … I would say…

“I am trying to earn a trip to San Diego, I’m giving away a flat-screen TV and free products would you like a book?” … the response was amazing, to say the least.

Depending on how much you need for your goal, how many customers you have, how many people you can talk to… you can either do ALL BEAUTY PRODUCTS… or Just Fragrance… or …

One campaign you can do Makeup

Next Campaign, do the buy one get one half off for Fragrance, Next campaign do it for Bath and Body…

Think about what will work for YOU!!!

Doing the math

Fragrance price $20

Buy one Get one half off… customer pays $30 for the 2.

FOR the Rep… Based on 25% earnings

$40 award sales… Rep price $30

Rep makes no money but bumps up her award sales!! (Reps at higher earnings levels will make a few $$ on this deal)

⁠As for the raffle for the customer, up it to $50 push the limits 🙂

Cathy Burns tried this with her C24 order.

She texted, emailed, and put copies on each brochure.  She wanted to make sure that every customer and every potential customer knew about it.

Because of this incentive, her C-24 order was $4,000 – her biggest order in 37 years!

She offered the Santa Snow Globe Lantern as her drawing – for every $40 order her customers were entered into the drawing.

This twins incentive works!  But you have to work it hard!  It will take massive action!

And the more you need to sell to reach your goals the more you’ll have to work it.

26 Other Ways To Promote Your Products or Incentives Online

  1. Send an offer email to your list.
  2. Schedule a content email with a call to action to your list.
  3. Send an email personally to someone you think would love it.
  4. Add a PS to a relevant email to your list with an offer in it.
  5. Post an offer in your Facebook group.
  6. Publish content in your Facebook group with an offer included.
  7. Post an offer on Twitter.
  8. Create an offer on LinkedIn.
  9. Post an offer on Instagram.
  10. Write a blog post that is an offer.
  11. Publish a blog post that is content with an offer.
  12. Write a blog post that is a review.
  13. Publish a podcast with an offer.
  14. Create a Facebook Live that is an offer.
  15. Post a video to YouTube that is an offer.
  16. Create an eBook that educates about a product and links to it, then give it to your customers and/or leads.
  17. Put an offer on the homepage of your website.
  18. Create a great blog post, put an offer in the bottom and in the sidebar and promote your blog post.
  19. Put an upsell offer on your email opt-in thank-you page.
  20. Email past customers and ask them if they need anything.
  21. Send an email to past customers and let them know what you have for sale (personally or as a group).
  22. Ask your best customers for referrals or if they can refer you to someone who might be interested in your products. Give a bonus for doing so.
  23. Setup and run an ad.
  24. Do a giveaway on your website, promoting and linking to the product being given away.

Conclusion

As you can see, boosting last-minute sales is not an impossible feat.

With the right strategies and tools, you can turn your business around fast, and you can recover any revenue you lost while sales were down.

The method you choose will depend on the type of Avon business you have and your sales goals.

You’ll also need to keep the needs of your target audience in mind to make sure you can deliver what they want.

So, right now, decide to go after that goal by getting the tools you need, taking the training you need, and talking to the potential customers you want… or not.

Is it really that simple?

To reach your year-end goal requires massive action by YOU the representative, or you can sit back and complain about what you want, yet deep down, you know there has not been any action or definitely not enough action.

So, make that decision right now!

Decide you are going to achieve your goal and get busy and make it happen!
