Fast Tips To Help You Get Started With Your Avon Business
You are officially an Avon Representative! Congratulations. You are now a part of a beautiful 130+ year history of people who use Avon to build a business on their own terms.
You’re an Avon BEAUTY BOSS!
So, whether you’re brand new or if you’ve been around for a while, it’s always a good idea to get back to basics.
I’m sure you already know that the amount of time and effort you put into your business will directly correlate with the amount of success you can expect.
So here are some tips to get you off to a great start, or to help you get back to basics:
Get Clear On Your Why
There was a reason why you started your Avon business. Take a very good look at what that was. Dig deep. Yes, maybe you wanted more money. But WHY did you want more money? What did you want to do with it?
Did you join Avon so that you could get money to pay for Johnnie’s braces? Maybe you joined because you were home all day with your kids and you needed some adults to hang out with.
Whatever your why, keep it in front of you. Success requires work. There will be ups and downs. When times get hard, you want that why firmly in front of you so you never forget why you are doing this.
Keep your dreams alive by putting your goals and dreams somewhere you’ll see them every day.
Keep Your Avon Business Money Separate From Your Personal Money
Open a separate bank account for your Avon business. Don’t mix your Avon business money with your personal accounts.
Keep your Avon money separate, and make sure your Avon account is paid in full every campaign. After you’ve paid your Avon balance, and know what money is left, then you can move it to your personal account to use as needed.
Never forget that Avon is where your earnings are coming from. No matter how hard things get, don’t spend that Avon money for personal expenses rather than pay for your Avon bill.
I know times can get hard, and it can become very tempting, especially when you don’t have food for your kids.
But not paying your Avon account will put you out of business very quickly, and then you’ll have no more ways to make money.
Your Customers
You definitely want to use Avon products for yourself, and become your own best customer. But consider Avon purchases to be like any other store purchases. You still have to pay for them.
Only purchase for yourself what you can afford. Pay yourself for your Avon products. You can pay at your discount if you’d like, but paying for them keeps everything clean and you’ll be better able to see that you’re actually making money.
The more of your own products you use, the better recommendations you’ll have for your customers. Also think of upcoming birthdays, holidays, and any occasion where you can purchase your own Avon products as gifts.
And then look for more customers. The wider you can spread out, the more successful your business will be.
Start a list of everyone you can think of. And then make sure they get an Avon brochure or a link to your eRepresentative website.
Here are some ideas to grow your customer list:
- Friends – both local and long distance
- Relatives – both local and long distance
- Organizations – schools, teams, clubs, church groups, etc.
- Geographic Opportunities – Acquaintances you meet on a regular basis, such as hairdresser, receptionists, cashiers, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. Think about where you go in a normal day and write it down. You don’t necessarily have to know their name right now, only who they are.
- Social Media – Everyone you follow and everyone who follows you.
Continue Learning
The more you learn, the better prepared you will be, and when you put that knowledge into practice, the more money you will make.
