The best way to take advantage of everything Avon has to offer is by working both sides of your Avon Business – Sales & Leadership.
It’s the leadership side of your business that will provide long-lasting residual income and provide you with the most earning opportunities.
Selling Avon brings you money right away, and Avon Leadership will help you earn money for the long run.
Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.
There are only 4 main steps:
- Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
- Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
- Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
- Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order
And then Rinse and Repeat.
It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.

Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.
Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.

Today We’ll Talk About Finding People to Join Your Team
Your Avon business will absolutely flourish if you have five business builders on your team.
But keep in mind that it’s not necessarily who YOU recruit who will build your business, it’s who YOUR RECRUIT recruits!
It only takes a few to start.
Building a large business depends on prospecting quality, like minded business builders.
Just start with one recruit and teach them to do the same and then you can grow from there.
First check your Mindset
Many people are afraid of rejection. Rejection makes a lot of people quit trying to build their own business.
This is where personal growth comes in. We need to learn how to overcome what might be holding us back.
If you can just overcome your fear of rejection, and anything else you might be afraid of, issues such as not having enough people to prospect will just fall into place.
Remember when you are talking to someone, you have a valuable gift to offer them with your Avon business.
I have a mantra I use when I’m feeling unsure of myself…
I’m not asking for a favor; I’m offering an opportunity.
Say that to yourself before talking to someone and it will help.
You really do have such an opportunity to offer people too.
Times are tough right now. More people are unemployed than at any time in the past 100 years. You have the ability to offer them the opportunity to earn over $3,000 in their first 8 campaigns in the Pathway to Premier Program, and right now they can get start for free.
Also remember, whether they take advantage of that opportunity is up to them, not you. Your job is to offer it to everyone.
Some might decide not to sign up to Sell Avon, and that’s OK. Some might sign up and do nothing, and that’s OK too. And then some will sign up, get started, and maximize that Pathway to Premier program.
What they do with the program is not your responsibility. You are there to help them sign up, help them get started, and help them be successful. You can’t drag them to success.
Prospecting for New People to Talk To
The first thing to do is make a list of everyone you know.
Even if you have been with Avon for a while, and did this when you started, I want you to do it again.
Get out a notebook. Writing it down in pen is much more powerful than typing.
Start with those who are closest to you… family, close friends, etc.
These are the people that you are just going to tell what you are doing, and ask if they will join you, or try your products, or if they will be a referral partner.
Next, let’s think about your warm market.
These are people you know who may or may not be interested. These people may be business oriented (who does your hair or nails, who is your insurance salesman, etc.), networking contacts, Facebook friends, LinkedIn friends, other social media friends, the contacts in your phone, your holiday card list, etc.
Don’t prejudge anybody. Just put them on your list.
Use this Memory jogger to help you think of more people, and keep adding names to your list.
You don’t have to contact them right away. Just add them to your list and you can come back to them later.
Sort your list. At the top should be your closest friends and those you think will be more likely to be interested.
Contact the People on your List
Start working through your list. Give them a call to find out if they are interested.
This is not a sales call though. Each call is likely to be different based on the person you are talking with.
Just let them know you’ve just started your own Avon business and ask them if they’d like to look at an Avon Brochure.
You can offer them the paper brochure or the digital brochure – it’s up to you.
You’re not trying to sell them anything. Just find out if they are interested, and if so, get the brochure to them.
Once you’ve determined they’re interested, be sure to add them to your customer follow-up system so that you will get them a brochure and follow-up with them every campaign. And you’ll also want to add them to your follow-up list so you can check back in 2 days to see if they saw anything they wanted.
Be sure to also offer this opportunity to the people you are talking to.
Ask them if they could use a couple of thousand dollars.
Remember, you are offering an incredible opportunity to help someone sign up at no cost and earn the money they need during this difficult time.
There’s no reason to feel bad about asking them. You might be just the blessing they need right now.
It’s really easy to share your sign-up page using your phone.
Just go to your Avon Online Store – YourAvon.com/YOURID
Click on Become a Representative
And then share that page using the share button on your phone to your potential recruit. It’s that easy!
And then be sure to add them to your Prospect Follow Up System so that you can stay in touch with them until they get signed up.
You can’t build a successful Avon business by relying on your friends and family.
Now it’s time to get outside of the people you know and find new people to talk to.
Just remember that recruiting is really just an extension of prospecting.
You will meet people and talk to them about your Avon business, learn a little about them if you can, and determine how you can best help them.
Some of the people you talk to will become customers, some will become recruits, and some will have no interest.
All of those are totally ok. Your job is just to offer to share your business with them.
There are lots of ways to meet people: face-to-face, referrals, and even online.
So, get out there and meet people. Offer a brochure. Be sure to get their contact information so you can follow-up in 2-3 days.
Don’t just give them your business card or a brochure without getting their contact information.
Very few of the people you talk to will actually take the trouble to connect with you again. Be sure to get their name and number, and then follow-up.
And then as soon as you get home, put their information into your Customer Follow Up System.
If they expressed an interest in Selling Avon, and they don’t come into your business right away, add them to your Prospect Follow Up System so that you can stay in touch with them.
That way when they are ready to join your business, you’ll be on the top of their mind.

Talk to Enough People
Work the numbers – If you call 40 people a day, 5 days per week, 48 weeks per year, that equals 9,600 contacts in one year.
If you only sponsor 1% of the 9,600 contacts, you will have 96 new team members.
If you’re not making enough money, this is where you should start. Make a goal to call more people.
If after 25 minutes you haven’t talked to anyone but answering machines keep going for the next 35 minutes.
Don’t stop – it will pay off eventually.
Use your spare change – Put 10 coins in your right pocket. Every time you attempt to prospect someone, take a coin out of your right pocket and move it to your left. Don’t go home until all 10 coins are in your left pocket.
Meet your neighbors – In a neighborhood of 200 people, how many can you meet and talk to? After speaking to 10 neighbors, you still have 190 to meet.
Get out of your house – Nothing happens until you get started. Go to where people are. Get active, join organizations and meet new people. Visit stores, gyms, events, fairs… anywhere people congregate.
You can do this online too.
You can also have discussions on Facebook to help you grow your business.
If you are working on Facebook, for example… find people who have common interests in groups or pages where you have an interest (such as pets, hobbies, etc.).
Start to build the relationship with them, and then take it to a private conversation in Facebook Messenger.
Once you are in Messenger, you can ask them if they have any interest in seeing an Avon brochure or learning more about making money with Avon.
Plan to Prospect every day.
Prospecting is the main activity you will do from the very start of your Avon business. That is where you are going to find your success.
Learn to get really good at it.
Taking the time to go prospecting on a regular basis can help ensure that you have new people to talk to for the next day, and the next, and the next – for as long as you desire.
Increase your earnings by teaching your new Representatives how to prospect. Increase your income by devoting more time to getting more recruits.
Or better yet, increase both – your prospecting and your team members’ prospecting.
Building your business is up to you! It’s up to you to make it happen. You breathe life into your dreams, and you build them.
