Habits To Develop That Will Make A Big Difference In Your Avon Business
In the last few posts, we’ve been talking about how our habits affect our Avon Business, and we are really not all that different from the top Super Star Representatives at Avon.
So today, let’s talk about what we need to do to build a big business and achieve all that we desire.
You may need to give up some things so that you can have the things that are REALLY important to you. In Stephen Covey’s book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People,” he tells the story of a college professor and his students in the Science Lab…
He pulled out a large glass jar and filled it with large rocks. When no more rocks would fit, he asked the class whether the jar was full. “Yes,” they said.
He then took out a pail of pea-sized chunks of gravel from behind the podium and shook them into the glass jar so that they filled the spaces between the rocks. “Is the jar full?” He asked again. “Probably not,” said the group in unison. (After all, they were clever people with doctoral degrees.)
Then he took another pail out from behind the podium and this time poured sand into the glass jar, shaking the jar so the sand sifted down into the pockets between gravel and rocks. “Is the jar full?” he asked once more. “No!” they said with certainty.
Nodding at their response, he took a final pail out from behind the podium and poured water into the jar of sand, gravel and rocks.
So what do you think his point was???
You Must Put The Big Rocks In First!
What are your big rocks? Are your current habits getting you what you really want out of life? You may need to cut out some things so you can focus on doing the things that can get you the residual income you are looking for.
Money can’t buy you happiness, but it certainly can buy you freedom. And freedom feels great! It’s okay to push yourself. It’s okay to stretch and take on the challenges. Are the problems you are experiencing worth your life? Because your life is what it’s costing you. Create problems that are worthy of your life!
Residual Income in your Avon business is worth some temporary sacrifices. You may see these sacrifices as ‘opportunities’ if you choose.
You have an opportunity to give up some things that have no long-term value in your life so that you can go to Avon RepFest.
You have the opportunity to temporarily set aside softball practice, your favorite television show, bowling, movie night, playing video games, etc. so that you can create a life that will allow you to really be free from the confines of your paycheck-to-paycheck doldrums.
Give Avon a 2-4 year commitment. Not an “I’m going to try it” commitment but an “I’m doing this no matter what” commitment.
Those of you that know me know that I am an undying advocate for Network Marketing, which is what our Avon business is. There is no other form of business out there that can give someone the freedom that Network Marketing provides.
You have Avon – a company with a TRACK RECORD (not a struggling start up) – that provides all back office support, legal counsel, payroll, research and development, revenue tracking, product fulfillment, real estate, etc. for running a successful business.
As We Build Our Business, We Do Three Things . . .
…Sell the products, share the Avon opportunity and show others how to do what we do – and without all the overhead and risk. And we can grow a business with no limits.
If you start a franchise, you’ll need to invest $20,000 to over $1 million with a 30% chance of failure (even with a successful franchise). You must take on the risk of overhead, employees, payroll, inventory, legal, franchise fees, etc. The average potential is about $75,000 per year with no residual. You’ll be expected to run your business for 3-5 years BEFORE earning a profit!
Your Avon business can give you a profit in the first month or two!
Each time someone joins your team or signs up as a customer, your income grows.
You also get a support system of people that have done it before you that will train you for free on how they became successful. The training you receive will serve you for the rest of your life and it will prepare you for success in anything you do.
Where else do you have access to people that will train you for free and truly have your best interest in mind? This only occurs in our profession.
There are many millions of people experiencing financial hardship right now. At your fingertips, you have a business that can help them and a product that brings nothing but positive to their life. What other type of business contributes so much?
What other type of business produces a result that can allow you to live anywhere in the country and still get paid, take time off and still get paid, travel the globe to exotic destinations and still get paid . . . all with little to no risk.
Richard and I ran an entire campaign from a cruise ship to Alaska. Not only did we do a $2500 campaign, most of our customers had no idea we were gone. And all we had to do was take about 1 hour per day just to pick-up voice mails and get the products ordered. It’s worth paying the price!
Here are some facts that may get you excited:
- 5 million people turn 18 each year. That’s 5 million new people introduce our company to every year!
- Even though we have 500 thousand Avon Representatives, there are still millions of people out there who don’t have a Representative and are looking for one!
- Last year Avon did over $10 billion in sales – more than any other Direct Sales company in the world.
- There are approximately 15 million people doing Network Marketing in the US alone. 1 in every 8 houses contains some type of a home-based business. Many of these people are not happy with their companies and are looking for a new company to work with.
The best advice I can give you is to move through people as quickly as possible looking for the right ones.
Expose as many people as possible to our company and find the ones that are open to joining Avon. Ask them if they want to make some money and show them how they can.
The faster you sort and build relationships with those that are open, the faster your business will grow.
If you get a negative response, quickly move on to the next person. Move through people quickly.
It is not our job to convince anyone to join our business. Our job is really more of a sorting process. Find The Few That Will Lead You To The Many!
