Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it’s already 2018!

I am so excited to ring in the New Year with my husband, Richard, and our family and friends this year.

2017 has been a very good year for us. Coming back to Avon and totally focusing on our Avon business was the best thing we’ve ever done, and something we should have done years ago.

It was a hard lesson to learn for me, especially when I came back to Avon and saw how much my numbers have shrunk, but there’s no doubt in my mind at all that residual income is a powerful truth!

In the six years we did nothing for our Avon business, Avon continued to send me paychecks every two weeks like clockwork. They never missed a single one!

Now that’s the power of residual income! In case this is a new concept to you, residual income is when you do something once and then you get paid over and over again for your efforts.

This is true for movie stars and singer/song writers – they play in a movie or publish a hit song, and they get paid every time someone watches the movie or plays the song forever. The same is true in our Avon business. We build a team, and we continue to get paid on the team volume campaign after campaign.

And then to really prove the point, within like 6 weeks of returning to Avon full-time, we earned a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas – all expenses paid. Wow!

You are a very important part of our lives too. We’ve really missed our Avon friends. You have always been a blessing in our lives. We love you!

2017 was a wonderful for Richard and me, and now are looking to an even brighter 2018.

So one last suggestion to make 2018 your best year is to choose a word that will guide you throughout the year.

For me, this year, my word will be expand.

I want to grow my business back to the point where it was when I left six years ago and even beyond that. So that word – expand – will be front of mind for me all year and serve as my guiding light.

Expand will be my mantra as I go through the year.

My goal is to expand not only my business, but also my life and my vision of what I can do. Every time I get scared about something, that word, expand, will gently remind me to let my vision expand!

Having that mantra will help keep me on track with what is important for me.

Why not find your own word, to define what you want out of 2018?

The word that you want to define your year might come straight to you without much effort, like it’s just been sitting there itching for you to recognize it. But it might take some work to find what works for you.

Start by brainstorming and writing down words that define your approach or goals in areas on your life. What are all the things you want to do, be, or have this year? List out everything that comes to mind. If it’s something you want to do, be, feel, or experience, it belongs on your list – no filtering or judgment, just write it down.

Your chosen word doesn’t have to relate to all of your resolutions, but the more it relates to all that you want to achieve, the more useful it will be. Find the word that best encapsulates the overall picture of what you want your year to be like.

Here are some example words to help you get started:

Improve – Begin – Challenge – Wellness – Balance – Courage – Creativity – Evolve – Change – Expand – Heal – Release – Grow – Begin – Finish – Health

Have fun with this and find just the word that speaks to you.

Once you have your word, keep it visible, as a reminder of what you’re working to create this year. If you feel compelled, create a vision board with images that represent the many ways you’d like to see this word come to fruition in all the different areas of your life. The more visual you make it, the better.

It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your one word will shape not only your year, but also you. It will become the compass that directs your decisions and guides your steps.

Then please share with us in the comments below. We’d love to hear what you came up with.
