How Much Does a Blog Cost to Build My Avon Business Online?
Have you been thinking about taking your Avon business online and were wondering how much a website or blog costs?
But before getting into all this, I bet you’re wondering if you even need a blog.
We’ll get to that.
But first let’s take a look at how to grow your business.
Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.
There are only 4 main steps:
- Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
- Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
- Following up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
- Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order
And then Rinse and Repeat.
It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.
We have our Daily 8 System to help you work on the activities that will help you grow your business.
The Daily 8 system is a proven formula
When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.
Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.
Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.
Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.
The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!
It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

Today We’ll Talk About How Much A Blog Will Cost To Build Your Avon Business Online
It is true that Avon provides an amazing Online Store for you, and you can definitely build your business with your Avon Online Store and some social media engagement.
But building a blog can take your business to the next level!
Your blog will allow you to develop deeper relationships with your customers and followers.
It also provides you with a way to target and identify interested candidates for customers and recruits.
Your Blog Helps You Be Found Online
That is because your blog posts will show up in Google search.
When people are looking for something, Google is the first place they look.
When someone searches for anything beauty or making money from home, if you have a post that targets the keywords they are looking for, they will find their way to your blog.
WordPress is one of the most popular ways to create a business blog, and while the software is free, the average cost varies depending on your goals and budget.
Let’s take a look at how much it costs to build a blog, and how you can avoid overspending when building your website.
Essentials Needed to Build a WordPress Website
As I mentioned above, WordPress is a free open-source software that anyone can download and install on any site.
That said, there are several costs you can expect to pay before your site goes live.
You can break down the overall cost of a WordPress website into these categories:
- WordPress hosting
- Domain name
- Website design
- WordPress plugins
WordPress Website Hosting
First, you will need web hosting to create a self-hosted WordPress site.
Your web host is your home on the internet, and it’s where you’ll store your website files.
Every website/blog needs online hosting.
Because there are different hosting packages for different types of websites, you’ll need to pick one that fits your budget and website needs.
Why Pay for Website Hosting?
You might be wondering why you need to pay for website hosting. After all, there are free hosting sites out there.
Well, in most cases, a paid web host provides a significantly better service than do free hosts.
Free Web hosting might be ideal for personal homepages and sites that don’t rely on online advertising or sales revenues.
But for those in business, whether they’re selling online, or simply wish to present a professional Web presence, paid hosting is typically the only option worth considering.
Maybe the old saying’s true: You do get what you pay for.
Domain Name
The next thing you’ll need is a domain name for your website.
A domain name is your website’s address online; it’s what users will type into their web browser to visit your website.
For example, my domain name is LoveMyBeautyBiz.com.
You can register your domain at GoDaddy.
Register your name as your web address (i.e., LynnHuber.com), or find a unique name that fits your business.
Blog Design
When you create a blog in WordPress, you’ll need a WordPress theme.
WordPress themes make up your website’s design and user experience.
There are many free WordPress themes and templates available.
In fact, when you install WordPress, it comes with several themes.
These are great to get you started. Each one comes with a different design, layout, and features, so you can choose the one that suits your taste and gives you the look you want for your website.
But if you need a custom design, you can buy a premium template or pay a web developer to design one for you, naturally increasing the design costs.
WordPress Plugins
There are 59,515+ free plugins available for WordPress websites. WordPress plugins enhance the functionality of your site with apps and extensions.

For example, you can use a WordPress plugin to add an image gallery, contact form, and other valuable features.
If you need advanced features for your website, you can use many premium plugins, which will add further costs to your website build.
In the end, you can build a professional website with only the cost of hosting and a domain name.
However, you may end up paying for extra tools, which is why it’s often confusing to figure out the actual cost of a WordPress site.
Keep reading, and we’ll walk you through those costs.
How Much Should a Basic Website / Blog Cost (Low Budget)?
Here is a breakdown of how much a low-budget website costs.
First, you will need web hosting and a domain name.
A domain name can cost up to $14.99 per year, and the hosting cost can be $7.99 per month.
You can register your domain at GoDaddy.
Register your name as your web address (i.e., LynnHuber.com), or find a unique name that fits your business.
Luckily, I have a deal with SiteGround for hosting your blog.
They are an officially recommended WordPress hosting provider that offers up to 73% off hosting.
It is very important to find a web host that makes it a priority to load your blog very quickly.
Many budget web hosts put many, many websites on a single server.
The problem with that is your blog will be slow to load and cause you to lose people who won’t wait around for it to load.
SiteGround is amazing at this. They make sure your pages load 30% faster on average than other web hosts.
As part of the deal, you’ll also get a free SSL certificate, 1-click install of WordPress, and 24/7 support.
After securing a host and domain name for your website, you’ll need to install the WordPress content management system.
Most hosting providers, like SiteGround, offer 1-click WordPress installations.
WordPress Themes For Your Blog
The next step is to add a design to your WordPress site with a free template. As mentioned earlier, these are called WordPress themes.
My favorite, and the one I use on all my blogs is Astra.
It’s easy to use and creates some fantastic-looking sites.  My personal Avon website is created with Astra.
It looks great, it’s easily customizable, and it’s fast and efficient.  Get Astra here.
Along with Astra, I use a Page Builder called Elementor.
Elementor is how I built the front page of my personal website.
This is a Page Builder that works well with Astra so that you can create each page exactly the way you want.  Check out Elementor here.
WordPress Plugins For Your Blog
After installing a WordPress theme, you may want to add more features to your website.
You can do that with a free WordPress plugin.
Here’s a list of the best free WordPress plugins you should install on your website:
Functionality
- WPForms Lite – Add a contact form to WordPress.
- Shared Counts – Free social media plugin.
- SeedProd Lite – Create custom landing pages without code.

Here is a list of the WordPress Plugins that I use.

Total Website Cost
A low-budget website can cost between $46 and $100 per year.
Starting small with a website is an excellent idea because you won’t pay for features you don’t need.
As your website grows, you may need to add more features and, as a result, increase your website costs.
