How To Build Trust On Social Media

Using Social Media is a great way to grow your Avon business.

But it’s important to keep in mind that customers are looking for brands they can trust.

It’s not enough that we have amazing products.

If you focus on JUST the products and you’re finding that it’s not working here’s a piece you’re missing:

YOU

Building trust with potential customers on social media is more important than ever for your business.

Luckily, social media is the perfect tool to connect with customers and build that trust.

People Need To Know, Like, And Trust You Before They Will Buy From You.

It’s important that you “let people in” to see who you are and why they should do business with you.

On social media, your followers can see exactly who you are, and you can speak to them in a space where they can directly respond to you.

Let them get to know you.

This is where people often tell me that they’re private and they don’t want to share their personal lives with strangers.

Good news, then – you don’t have to!

The Good Thing About Sharing Is YOU Pick What You Share on Social Media.

People don’t need to know your secrets to feel like they know you.

They just need to feel like you’re real.

You can talk about going to the grocery store or how much you like sunsets or COFFEE (I love coffee).

Very general stuff can create great connections 🙂

People Get to Know Us Through Stories

People get to know us through stories, little peeks into our lives, us sharing what’s important to us, etc.

You can do that in three main ways online:

  • Photos – Giving a visual peek into our lives and our business.
  • Written Content – Sharing what’s important to us and in our business.
  • Video – Showing who we are while creating that know, like and trust factor.

These Days, Video Is More Important Than Ever.

Video on social media is having a major moment right now.

In a recent Instagram Live, Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri shared that video is “driving an immense amount of growth online for all major platforms” and stated that video will be a key focus area for Instagram over the coming months.

The takeaway: If you want to grow online, it’s time to start creating video content.

Still not convinced?

Here Are 7 Reasons Why You Should be Using Video In Your Social Media Marketing

1 – Video gets more Exposure and Engagement

If you’ve logged in to any social media platform recently, you might have noticed video content within the first 10 seconds.

This is because video content typically performs best with most algorithms, based on the fact it captures a viewer’s attention for longer.

Reels – Whether it be Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, or even TikTok are shown to everyone on the platform, not just your friends.

So, using Reels, you can reach out beyond your current friend’s list, and therefore gain more exposure on social media.

2 – Video is Growing in Popularity Across All Social Media Channels

Social media users love videos!

People are looking for engaging, entertaining content on social media more than ever before.

Video is one of the most effective formats to do so.

3 – Video Typically Has a Longer Shelf Life

Not only does video content get more engagement than other content types, it usually sticks around for longer.

A TikTok video, for example, can show up for users weeks, even months, after it’s first published.

4 – Video Appeals to a Gen Z Audience

Gen Z are much more connected to the internet than other generations and have grown up with YouTube as a primary source of entertainment and education.

TikTok has been so successful with Gen Z users, that over 35% of TikTok’s 800M+ users fall into this demographic.

But don’t limit yourself to Gen Z.

The fastest-growing segment is those over 40.

Everybody loves video.

5 – Video can be Repurposed Across Multiple Platforms

Producing quality video content may be more time-consuming than posting an image.

But once complete, you can use it to reach different audiences across multiple platforms.

Translation:  Greater reach = a greater return on investment.

In fact, I create many of my videos on TikTok.

Then I download them to my phone and then post them on Facebook Stories, Facebook Reels, my Facebook Timeline, Instagram Reels & Timeline, YouTube, Linked In, Twitter, and even Pinterest.

6 – Video is a More Personable Way to Engage With Your Audience

More than ever before, consumers want to know more about the brands and the people they follow – and video is one of the most effective ways to do this.

People are attracted to you and who you are.

Your persona, or who you are, shines through on video.

It’s a little like how you fall in love with certain actors and news anchors.

You see them on video, and you start to feel like you know them.

7 – Video is a Powerful Sales Tool

If a picture can tell a thousand words, a video is worth at least a million.

This is just one reason why video is such a powerful sales tool.

Pinterest users are 2.6x more likely to make a purchase after viewing the brand’s video on the platform.

In fact, 93% of marketers said they landed a new customer thanks to a video on social media.

Social Media Video is Making All the Difference in My Avon Business

Since I started focusing on video, I started getting more new recruits and customers.

It seriously works.

All you have to do is get out of your comfort zone and do it.

Just remember, you have to suck at something before you can be good at it.

The more you create videos, the better you will become at creating them.

I promise it will be worth the effort!
