How to Create Your First Blog Post

So now you should have your blog setup and your plugins installed. You’re ready to create your first blog post.

This might come easy to you, but it could also be a whole new concept. So don’t beat yourself over it. You will get better with time.

When writing your post, just be yourself. Don’t worry about being perfect. Just let your personality shine through. It’s you that your reader is going to connect with.

So to start, you’ll click on Posts (on left side), and then Add New.

A couple of notes about the video:

For categories, he mentions Blog.  But you will want to add categories such as: skin care, bath & body, makeup, fragrance, sell Avon etc. Whatever you want that applies to your business.

In the video he talks about publishing your post so you can see what it looks like. You don’t have to publish it. You can click on Update, and then on Preview. That way the post is not live and nobody else can see it until you’re ready for the public to see it.

This video was pretty good at showing you the features on the Add New Post screen. If you need more help, comment below, or you can find all kinds of great videos on YouTube.

When posting to your blog, it is very important that you are consistent. Look at your calendar and figure out what you can commit to – whether it’s once a week, three times a week, daily… whatever.

You want to post as often as you can, but once you make the commitment, please stick to it. You’ll find that if you do, you’ll have more success.
