Prospecting Is The First Step To Growing Your Avon Business
The very first skill you need to learn for a successful Avon business is prospecting.
I know it can be scary. We’ve all been there and can relate to how you feel.
And we’re here to help you.
Unless you have people to talk to, you won’t have customers or recruits, and won’t be able to build a solid business.
Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.
There are only 4 main steps:
- Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
- Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
- Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
- Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order
And then Rinse and Repeat.
It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

The Daily 8 system is a proven formula
When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.
Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.
Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.
The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!
It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

So, Prospecting is the First Step
So, the first thing I want you to do is make a list of everyone you know.
Get out a notebook. Writing it down in pen is much more powerful than typing.
Start with those who are closest to you… family, close friends, etc.
These are the people that you are just going to tell what you are doing, and ask if they will join you, or try your products, or if they will be a referral partner.
Next, let’s think about your warm market.
These are people you know who may or may not be interested. These people may be business oriented (who does your hair or nails, who is your insurance salesman, etc.), networking contacts, Facebook friends, LinkedIn friends, other social media friends, the contacts in your phone, your holiday card list, etc.
Don’t prejudge anybody. Just put them on your list.
Use this Memory jogger to help you think of more people, and keep adding names to your list.
You don’t have to contact them right away. Just add them to your list and you can come back to them later.
Sort your list. At the top should be your closest friends and those you think will be more likely to be interested.
As part of the Daily 8 System, your goal is to get contact information for 3 new potential customers and 3 new potential recruits.
Start working through your list. Give them a call to find out if they are interested.
This is not a sales call though. Each call is likely to be different based on the person you are talking with.
Just let them know you’ve just started your own Avon business and ask them if they’d like to look at an Avon Brochure.
You can offer them the paper brochure or the digital brochure – it’s up to you.
You’re not trying to sell them anything. Just find out if they are interested, and if so get the brochure to them.
Once you’ve determined they’re interested, be sure to add them to your customer list so that you will get them a brochure every campaign, and to your follow-up list so you can check back in 2 days to see if they saw anything they wanted.
Also, keep in mind that these are crazy times.

It’s really easy to share your sign-up page using your phone.
Just go to your Avon Online Store – YourAvon.com/YOURID
Click on Become a Representative
And then share that page using the share button on your phone to your potential recruit. It’s that easy!
And then be sure to add them to your Prospect Follow Up System so that you can stay in touch with them until they get signed up.
You don’t even need to call your entire list right away.
Just work through it each day until you’ve shared the brochure with 3 people, and the Avon signup link with 3 people.
Once you’ve done that, you’ve met your goal of collecting 3 potential customers and 3 potential recruits.
Now you can give yourself a point for each of those two activities on your Daily 8 Tracking Form.
Once you’ve worked through your list, now you need to prospect outside of the people you already know.
There are lots of ways to meet people: face-to-face, referrals, and even online.
So get out there and meet people. Offer a brochure. Be sure to get their contact information so you can follow-up in 2-3 days.
Don’t just give them your business card or a brochure without getting their contact information.
Very few of the people you talk to will actually take the trouble to connect with you again. Be sure to get their name and number, and then follow-up.
And then as soon as you get home, put their information into your Customer Follow Up System.
If they expressed an interest in Selling Avon, and they don’t come into your business right away, add them to your Prospect Follow Up System so that you can stay in touch with them.
That way when they are ready to join your business, you’ll be on the top of their mind.

You can do this online too.
You can also have discussions on Facebook to help you grow your business.
If you are working on Facebook, for example… find people who have common interests in groups or pages where you have an interest (such as pets, hobbies, etc.).
Start to build the relationship with them, and then take it to a private conversation in Facebook Messenger.
Once you are in Messenger, you can ask them if they have any interest in seeing an Avon brochure or learning more about making money with Avon.
Plan to Prospect every day.
Prospecting is a critical part of your success.
Taking the time to go prospecting on a regular basis can help ensure that you have new people to talk to for the next day, and the next, and the next – for as long as you desire.
Building your business is up to you! It’s up to you to make it happen. You breathe life into your dreams, and you build them.
