Just like any other business, Avon Representatives are always looking for ways to differentiate themselves from other Avon Representatives.

After all, how do you set yourself apart when there are thousands of Avon Representatives?

How do you provide the most value for your time, while reaching the greatest number of potential customers or team members?

Of course, there are many ways to do this.  Excellent customer service is a great start.  And then networking and promoting your business on social media.

But to take your business to the next level, you might consider hosting your own website and blog.

Your blog is a huge opportunity to set yourself apart from other Representatives and come across as a pro.

Why Blog?

As you’re growing your Avon business, you’re always looking for new people to add into the pipeline – both for sales and recruiting.

Avon offers us our own Online Store where customers can visit and make purchases online.

But what if they’re not ready to purchase yet?

Many times, a potential customer will do a Google search, looking for answers to questions about a specific product, or even what it would be like to Sell Avon.

It’s very common for people to do a little detective work before they are ready to take the plunge.  They’re looking for answers from someone with experience.  If they’re thinking about selling Avon, they could also be looking for an experienced Representative to join with.

What if you provided a website that was helpful – answering their questions, making them feel like they are “in the know” about Avon.

That would certainly set you apart from all the Avon Representatives who only have Avon’s “replicated website.”

Your blog is a great opportunity for you to start building a trusted relationship with potential customers.  When they’re ready to purchase or join, they’ll likely come back to you.

You’d be surprised to learn that many people follow me for months or even years without me having any idea they’re watching me.  Then one day, seemingly out of the blue, they reach out to me ready to make a purchase or join my team.

Selling Avon is all about building a relationship with the customer and offering them added value with their purchase.  They can buy anywhere online, but then they wouldn’t have you.  You are the secret sauce to growing your Avon business.

They not only get high quality products; they get that personalized service that only you can provide.  It’s not uncommon for Avon Representatives to become good friends with their customers.

Isn’t that the goal of a having a blog?  Inviting potential customers and recruits in to answer their questions, building relationships based on trust, and welcoming them as members of your tribe?

Through a blog, your potential customers and recruits can get to know your personality and start to feel like they know you.

Here are 4 Reasons you Should Consider Having a Blog

1 – Help People Find You

When you do a Google search for Avon, the corporate site ranks highest, and it’s not likely your Avon replicated Online Store will show up at all.

Now do a search for a specific question such as, How much does it cost to sell Avon?  It’s likely a blog article will come up.

Use Pinterest for the search, and you’ll definitely see blog articles by other Avon Representatives.  Women use Pinterest for searches.

The more content you add to your blog (and share with your social media channels), the more opportunities you have to be found in online searches.

2 – Set Yourself Apart

We already know there are thousands of Avon Representatives in the U.S.  A small percentage of them will have a blog.

Truth is, maintaining a blog requires commitment and consistent effort.  The majority of Avon Representatives are just playing with their business or are not willing to put too much effort into their business.

When you get started with your blog and are putting in consistent effort into your business, you rise above all of the Avon Reps who are not giving it the effort.

There is a lot less competition as you move up the ranks in your business.

And the more places you are online with consistent profile’s, the more chances that Google will find you and return you in the search results when someone is searching with questions about Avon.

Setting yourself apart from other Avon Representatives includes branding yourself.

One of the most effective ways to do this is through your blog and original content.  Write from your own unique perspective, be helpful, authentic and show your personality.

Mix in some video content so your followers can get to know you and you’ll be on your way!

3 – Answer Questions

When a potential customer or team members does an online search, they are looking for answers to specific questions about your products or your business opportunity.

Put yourself in their shoes.  What questions did you have before you started your business?

Did you want to know how to get started, how to grow your business, how much money you could make if you decided to sell Avon?

Answer these questions on your blog.  You’ll become known to that person as a trusted source of information.

People buy from people they know, like and trust.  Your blog has the potential to position you as a leader in everything about Avon.

4 – It’s Cost Effective

Compare what you spent last year on printed promotional materials with what it would cost to host a blog.  For around $8 a month, you can own a self-hosted WordPress site.

You’ll have the potential to reach far more people than you would with traditional local marketing, or even marketing on Facebook.

And the content you create on your blog will be shared on all your social channels and will be shared by your readers, increasing your reach even further.

Before you get started

Before you start to create your blog, you’ll want to do a little homework.

Consult Avon’s policies and procedures so that you know what’s allowed and what is not.

Sit down and plan out the purpose of your blog.  Check out the blogs of other Avon Representatives, and maybe even Representatives of other companies.

Think about how you want your blog to look, and what your content strategy will be.

You can purchase WordPress themes online, so you don’t need to worry about being a web designer to have a blog.  WordPress actually makes it pretty easy.  If you can type a Word Document, you can create a blog post.

What type of content will you provide – what questions will you answer for your readers?  You’ll want to have at least 5-6 articles written and published before your blog goes live.
