Start An Email Mailing List To Grow Your Avon Business
When you’re marketing your Avon Business online, an email list is one of the most valuable tools you can have.
I know it can be scary to start something new and it might even be a bit overwhelming.
I mean, you might be thinking… “What’s all this talk about an email marketing program and paying for a service to send emails for me?” or “Can’t I just email everyone from my Gmail account?” or “What would I ever say in an email?” or even “I don’t have a blog or personal website yet, so I don’t need an email list.”
Initially building an email list is hard work. It feels like it’s taking forever to build. And it might take a long time to get more than a handful of people on it.
But trust me, it is worth it. Why?
Because most of my Avon online sales come from my email list.
Being able to reach my customers directly in their inbox is a huge privilege! You’re given access to come into their world, in their inbox. If they’ve joined your email list, they’ve already said a small ‘yes’ to you.
If you have a blog, then an email list is pretty much a requirement. But even if you don’t have a blog, an email list is a really good way to stay in touch with your customers.
We’ve already talked about ways to Systemize Everything to Grow Your Avon Business. Your email list is just one more way to do that.
As I talk about in the above article, I send either a recorded voice message or text to every customer letting them know when my next order is going in. I also do this on my email list, but my email list goes even further.
Here are just a few of the regular emails I send to my list:
A Few Days Before I Place My Order –
My order dates are different than the Online Brochure dates. So I always send an email a couple of days before I place my order. Yes, they may be getting both an email and a text from me and that’s totally okay.
My email will say something like:
I will be placing my Avon order on Wednesday, July 11th. If you are local and would like me to order anything for you, please let me know by tomorrow, Tuesday, July 10th.
Etc…
New Campaign Online –
When the brochure changes over online, I send an email to my list saying something like:
Welcome to Campaign 16. Campaign 16 is now live on our website and here are some of the features.
Describe some of the hot items in that campaign.
Campaign 16 is effective on our website July 10-23, 2018
If you’d like to place an order, you can go to YourAvon.com/YOURID.
Etc…
Campaign Ending Online –
The new Campaign always starts online on a Tuesday. So the Thursday before that date, I send an email saying something like:
If you would like to order online from the Avon Campaign 15 Brochure, it will be available online until this coming Monday, July 9th.
After that, the Campaign 16, 2018 Brochure will be active.
Of course most of the products will still be available, but the pricing may be slightly higher or lower after the switch to the next campaign.
If you’d like to place an order, you can go to YourAvon.com/YOURID.
Etc…
Thank you for letting Richard and I be your Avon Representatives. If there’s anything we can help you with, please let us know.
If you are local to Salt Lake City, we will be happy to take your order and deliver it to you. Just contact us and let us know and we’ll take care of you. 🙂
Etc…
Once you have your email list, you can also send out emails about important specials, such as when Avon offers Starter Kit specials or special deals to join Avon.
The majority of my emails are geared around online Avon. This may or may not be true for you based on your customer base.
Benefits of an Email List –
You Own It –
The beauty of your email list is you own it. It’s yours and you can email your list what you feel is right for them.
Did you know that Facebook could close its doors any time? Or Pinterest? It can happen. We’ve seen past social media platforms shut down.
You spend all this time trying to grow your Pinterest followers only to see that they won’t help you make an income.
Your email list is your property and you are building your income on your platform. This means you can spend time growing your email list and being assured that all that time you spent will result in some form of income sometime in the near future.
Build Relationships –
The people on your email list are your customers, your friends, and maybe even your future team members.
It’s important to treat your list well, because like any friendship it can go cold. Think of your email list as a relationship.
If you never email them, or just call sporadically, or just reach out to them when you have something to sell – it would be a pretty one-sided and selfish relationship.
Work on building that relationship. Check in on them weekly. Send them amazing advice and tips. Cultivate that relationship over time, and your sales will grow as a result.
List Servers Can Help Your Emails Get Delivered –
One of the benefits of having an email list provider is they are specialists at getting your emails delivered.
They also give your customers the ability to opt out of receiving your emails if they no longer want to receive them. This is much better than you sending an email from your personal email and having them click on “spam.”
This is one of the main reasons you don’t want to use your own email to email your customers. If too many people click on the “spam” button, it is very likely your personal emails will not get through when you send them.
Create a Signup Link –
Another benefit is you can create a signup form for your email list. This can be hosted on your blog, or can even be posted on Social Media to help you grow your list.
Email List Pricing –
All email lists work on a pricing schedule based on the size of your list. As your list grows, so does the cost of the service.
Where Do I Get an Email List? –
There are many options to get an email list. The one I use and love is AWeber. You can get started for Free with up to 500 email subscribers. It is just the one I love and am using right now.
Another very good one is MailChimp. This one is also free until your list starts to get big. But their free version does have some drawbacks, such as you can schedule emails in advance.
So, what are you waiting for?…
Let’s get you started with an Email List to grow your Avon business! All you have to do is get started and you will get better as you learn more. I can’t wait to watch your business grow.
