Treat Every Day Like Your First Day In Business

We all have 1,440 minutes in the day – every one of us. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact in our business.

But it’s surprising how many Avon Representatives allow those opportunities to slip away unnoticed.

Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.

There are only 4 main steps:

  1. Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
  2. Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
  3. Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
  4. Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order

And then Rinse and Repeat.

It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.

We have our Daily 8 System to help you work on the activities that will help you grow your business.

The Daily 8 system is a proven formula

When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.

Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.

Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.

Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.

The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!

It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

Today We’ll Talk About Treating Every Day Like Your First Day

Many of us let so many opportunities pass us by, and don’t even notice it’s happening.

Why?

Could be because of burnout, reaching a plateau, or finding yourself in a rut.

But here’s the thing…

If you’re not paying attention… before you know it, minutes have turned into years of lost chances.

The Problem With Your Comfort Zone!

Our comfort zone, the area in which we feel comfortable engaging with, being present in, and operating within its confines.

Comfort zones are good! They provide a sense of peace, a sense of safety, and a sense of confidence because we always know what we can expect inside our comfort zones.

More often than not, it’s easy to sink into our comfort zones when we’re feeling uneasy and then grow accustomed to that sense of peace and safety so that we never want to leave.

BUT…while our comfort zones can sometimes provide us with some much-needed relief from today’s bustling world, it can often hold us back – especially when it comes to building our business.

You Have to Keep it Fresh!

Think back to some of the finest days you’ve had in your life – a new job, a new school, a budding relationship… maybe even the beginning of your Avon business.

You felt that adrenaline rush as you looked at all the new opportunities around you and savored every magical moment.

Your passion was at your best and brightest, and you worked hard for it.

You looked for opportunities to shine and innovate.

Then, as time passed, you might have lost some of your enthusiasm.

Boredom replaced energy; clutter replaced fresh ideas; routines replaced creativity.

You were no longer keeping it fresh.

Finding the Magic

So how do you rekindle that enthusiasm you had when you first started your Avon business?

Let’s look at some ideas:

Remember Every Day is a Gift to You

Each day is a gift filled with opportunities to rise above fear, self-doubt, and mediocrity.

You have 1,440 minutes every day – so make them count by setting specific goals to succeed, and then making every effort to exceed your own expectations.

We recently did a training on how to dramatically increase your sales.

In this training, we talked about setting goals and breaking them down to each campaign, and even each day of the campaign.

Know what your numbers are.  What is the sales amount you want to reach each campaign?

Break it down to how much that equals every day.

Then track it!

Tracking it is just a way to make sure you are on track.

There’s no need to beat yourself up over not meeting your goal that day.  It just lets you know that you are a little behind and you can work to make up for it the next day, or over the next couple of days.

Use the Power You Already Have

We were all born with internal power – that strength to overcome pretty much anything.

One key to success is discovering this natural power and using it to deal with the challenges we encounter.

Don’t wait for someone else to open your door.  Take responsibility and find a way to open it yourself.

People in the direst circumstances have made ways to overcome the obstacles they faced and opened the door to freedom, education, and business success by finding their power.

Make a conscious effort to find your power source, use it to fuel your passion, and release the greatness within you.

Stay Alert

One of the great benefits of personal development is that you train yourself to have a growth mindset rather than a fixed mindset.

A fixed mindset is one where it’s assumed our character, creative ability and intelligence are fixed traits that cannot be changed. These people believe their basic abilities are what you are born with and they will only ever have a certain amount.

A growth mindset, on the other hand, is the belief that their abilities and intelligence is and can grow with time and experience. They believe they can become smarter, that their efforts effect their success and with persistence they can learn.

People who develop that growth mindset and more able to see and recognize the opportunities that present themselves many times a day.

Open your eyes and see yourself as a go-getter with the power to turn a No into a Yes.

Be determined to blaze new trails to success.

Determination Finds Many Ways to Succeed

Many people become discouraged when facing resistance in reaching their goals.

Most successful people overcome obstacles to reach success.

Those with a growth mindset believe their basic ability is only the starting point for their true potential.

The growth mindset creates a passion for learning rather than a constant need for approval.

Their golden achievements come after doors were closed, dreams were derailed and hecklers berated them.

The difference between those who won and those who gave up in defeat was often just their level of persistence.

When the going got tough, the winners found in themselves that incredible resolve every human being possesses (including YOU) and stood firm against the odds.

If you encounter a roadblock, don’t let it stop you.

Think of a dozen ways to get around it and take action.

Remember, there’s more than one road to success.

Constantly Improve Yourself

Your Avon business is always going to have to deal with changes.

This past year has evolved around the covid pandemic.

Many businesses are (or have been) shut down, Avon has shortages because they’re not able to get some of the parts or supplies they need to package our products, Customers have lost their jobs and are cutting back on spending, we have had to social distance and that makes it harder to find new customers…

Covid has caused us to have to rethink how we do business in so many ways.

You want to stay abreast of what’s going on and constantly improve your knowledge and skills.

Make a daily commitment to be better, more knowledgeable, and more in touch then you were yesterday.

Work to constantly better yourself and your Avon business skills – take Avon U courses, register for and attend Avon trainings, watch for Facebook Lives that will help you.

Maintain a Positive Attitude

There are tons of Avon Facebook Groups out there with lots of other Representatives that can help you when you need help.

The only concern I have with these groups, is that when you get a bunch of people together it’s easy for the conversation to go negative and turn into complaint sessions.

That’s not helpful for anybody.

Use the Facebook Groups – Connect with other Reps, learn and share your knowledge and develop relationships – and enjoy all the advantages of connecting online.

But don’t let yourself get sucked into a negative conversation or frame of mind.

Things happen.  Avon changes policies or procedures. Prices go up.  Products get discontinued.

Complaining doesn’t help at all.

My mentor and favorite motivational speaker, Jim Rohn says, “When you get your own world, you can run it how you want.”

We are not employees of Avon, and Avon doesn’t need our permission to make decisions.

Avon is just the vendor that we have chosen to partner with to build our own business.

Focus on the Good or Find a Solution

So, if you want to be successful, it is critical that you focus on the positive and let go of the negative.

Since your conscious mind can hold only one thought at a time, either positive or negative, if you deliberately choose a positive thought to dwell upon, you keep your mind optimistic and your emotions positive.

Since your thoughts and feelings determine your actions, you will tend to be a more constructive person, and you will start moving forward and more rapidly toward the goals that you have chosen.

When presented with a challenge in your business, figure out a way around it.  Or figure out a way to lessen the impact on your business.

Eliminate the word problem from your business vocabulary.  Replace it with challenge.

The word challenge is inherently positive.

It is something that you rise to that makes you stronger and better.

It is the same situation, only the word that you are using to describe it is different.

The best of all possible words to maintain a positive attitude and manage stress is the word opportunity.

When you are faced with a difficulty of any kind, instead of saying, “I have a problem,” you can say, “I am faced with an unexpected opportunity.”

And if you concentrate your powers on finding out what that opportunity is—even if it is only a valuable lesson—you will certainly find it.

Remember, it is impossible to learn and grow and become a successful person without adversity and difficulties.

You must learn to manage stress and rise above the difficulties in order to become a better person.

Welcome each difficulty by looking into the situation to find the good in it.

Move Forward Towards Your Goals and Dreams

Start moving forward in life by keeping your thoughts on your goals, dreams, and on the person you are working towards becoming.

When things go wrong temporarily, don’t let them derail you.  Find ways to work around it, or over it, or through it.

Resolve to maintain a positive attitude, be cheerful and resist every temptation towards negativity and disappointment.

View a disappointment as an opportunity to use that inherent strength that you have and find a way to overcome it.

Treat Every Day Like Your First Day in Business

Look for opportunities to shine and innovate.

Take pride in yourself as you review your day and see that you met your goals for that day.  Or if not, make a plan to make up for it in the next day or so.

Feel that adrenaline rush as you survey new opportunities to grow your business.

Never stop pursuing great ideas.

Know that the success of your business is entirely up to you.

Focus on your mindset – stay positive, be open to new ideas and opportunities, and fight for your success.

Stay determined – stand by your decisions and do all the necessary hard work to achieve great things in your life and your business. No successful person simply sat and waited for success to fall into their hands just like that. You need to act.

Resolve to succeed – you can succeed in anything but know It won’t be easy. Resolve to yourself that nothing can stop you. Allow yourself to dream a little and give yourself hope. You will be able to do things that you didn’t even know you could do.

Becoming successful in life and in your Avon business requires patience, dedication, and hard work.

But you’ve got this!  I know you!
