Using Project Broadcast To Grow Your Digital Brochure List

More and more customers are choosing to shop online, where they can shop when they have the time, compare options, and even read reviews to help them make the best decision.

Avon is helping Representatives to be more fully online by giving them the ability to share a digital brochure link.

Now, just to be clear… you don’t need a tool like Project Broadcast to share your Digital Link.  You can easily just text it to your customers, or even share from Avon Social to social media.

But Project Broadcast makes it easy to capture your customer’s information, keep them all in one place, and easily send out the text link every campaign to everyone within seconds.

So today, I’m going to show you how easy it is to use Project Broadcast to manage your digital customers.

In fact, I’m also going to show you how to get information from them such as their birthday, which you can then use for a birthday campaign in Project Broadcast!

Note:  I am working on a computer.  If you are using a phone, it may look different, but the functionality is pretty much the same.  You’ll just need to find the tools from the menu.

So, the first thing you’ll want to do is create a Keyword:

Click on the Key symbol on the left side of the screen and create a keyword for your Digital Brochure.

I used AVON BOOK

When someone texts this keyword to your Project Broadcast phone number, they will automatically be tagged with AVON BOOK.

When you set up your Keyword, there are a couple of things you want to do:

1 – Contact Link Redirect URL –

We are going to be using a dynamic field called Contact Link in our welcome text.  That field will ask your customer to fill out a form with their contact information.

I will explain this more, further down, but for now, you’ll want to put your brochure link in this field.

Your brochure link is https://www.avon.com/brochure?rep=lynnhuber.  (replace lynnhuber with your Reference code)

By doing this, after your customer fills out the form they will automatically be redirected to your Digital Brochure.

2 – Reply Message –

This is the message your customer will receive when they text AVON BOOK to your Project Broadcast phone number.

You can put whatever you want in here, but this is what I put in mine.

Hi, I am Lynn of Lynn & Richard Avon. Thanks for your request. I am happy to send you the digital Avon brochure. It’s easy… you can just click on the item you want to make a purchase.

If I can help you in any way, please let me know. Thank you so much for supporting local small business. ❤️

Just so I can serve you better, would you please fill out your contact info here – {{contactLink}}. Thanks!

You always want to include a picture in your text, especially if your text is long.  This prevents your text from getting split up and garbled before your customer reads it.  Some carriers break messages up into smaller messages, but they don’t get delivered in order to the other phone so they’re almost impossible to read.

To add an image, click on the paperclip icon. ?

It’s a good idea to include a picture of you, so your new customer knows who they are dealing with and it helps them feel like they know you.

To get the {{contactLink}} in your message –

Click on the code icon </> and choose Contact Link to insert it into your message.

Note, this is a dynamic field that is customized for each person.  So always be sure to use the code, and not the link that it inserts into a text message.

When your customer clicks on the contact link in their text, they are taken to a form where they can fill out their contact information and birthday.

As soon as they click on Submit, they will be taken to your Digital Brochure – the link you provided above in the Contact Link Redirect URL

Now, you don’t have to do all of this.  What’s nice about doing it this way is you have their name and birthday instead of just a phone number.

Having their name allows you to insert their name using the dynamic field {{firstName}}, which adds more of a personal touch to your messages and allows you to know who is responding when they respond to you.

Having their birthday allows you to use Project Broadcast to setup a birthday campaign that will automatically send them a text on their birthday.  We’ll go into more details on that in a future post.

3 – Auto-Tag

Make sure this field is checked.

This will tag your customer with the tag AVON BOOK.  Then when you’re ready to send out another text, it will make that possible to send it to everyone who has that tag.

How this all Works

  1. Your customer will text AVON BOOK to your Project Broadcast phone #
  2. They will automatically be tagged with AVON BOOK.
  3. They will automatically receive the reply message asking them to fill out their contact information.
  4. As soon as they complete the Contact Information form, they will automatically be sent to your Digital Brochure

Now that you have it setup, on the first day of every campaign you will send out a text to everyone who is tagged AVON BOOK.

Sending a message on Project Broadcast

Click on the Calendar on the left-hand side.

Click on the + sign to create a new message

1 – Type in your message –

In this message you will always want to add your brochure link as well.  You can create a template for this if you’d like and then just edit it for each campaign.

This is what I say, but I do customize it each campaign:

Hi {{firstName}} Welcome to Campaign 07! Now available in my e-store thru 03/18/19! Shop at http://YourAvon.com/LynnHuber

Be sure to include an image of the Campaign Cover.

2 – Click on Add Contacts –

Then click on the tag icon at the top right and choose your AVON BOOK tag.  And click on the ✓ to accept it.

Then it will come up with a list of all your contacts which have that tag associated with them.  Click on Add All.

3 – Select Date & Time –

And then set the date and time you want the text to go out.

That’s it!  All your customers will get a personalized text with a link to your Digital Brochure!

You’ll want to send this text out every campaign letting your customers know that the campaign has changed over to the next campaign.  But Project Broadcast makes it easy!
