I bet if you sat down 100 people and talked about they were interested in, you’d probably find almost 100 different topics that you could blog about.
A mom would be able to blog about milestones in her babies’ lives, the products she loves, problems she’s encountered and the solutions she’s come up with.
Someone who likes to cook can share recipes. Hobbyists can blog about their hobbies. Gamers could blog about tips and tricks.
And for businesses, blogging is one of the best things you can do to grow your business!
Here are a few ideas of how business people use blogging to increase their business:
A dentist up in the New England area was just starting her practice and looking for ways to increase business. She finally developed a video blog and blogged daily about different procedures such as crowns and bridges, and root canals. She showed how the procedures were done, what to expect, how it felt… everything about each type of procedure. As a result her business exploded! Turns out that many people are afraid of the dentist, and being able to go to her blog and learn about what to expect really helped them to get over their fears.
A man that I know had a home based MLM business. He loved his crock-pot and wanted to share crock-pot recipes. So every day he wrote a blog post with a different recipe. Crock-pots and recipes had nothing to do with his business but that’s the subject he loved and what he blogged about. After each recipe, he added a little blurb or advertisement about his business. As a result of the recipes his blog went viral and so did his home business.
We’ve all heard the story of Gary Vaynerchuk, who started a blog about wine, something he loved. It wasn’t long before he had 100,000 followers and his wine store grew from a $3 million business to a $45 million business!
So what if you, as an Avon Representative, started a blog and wrote about your favorite products, how to apply makeup or use the products, and even how to sell Avon? Can you see how this could help your Avon business?
It’s a brilliant way to keep in touch with your customers and add value to their experience of doing business with you! I can’t imagine any business for which this wouldn’t be helpful.
