Why You Need An Email List To Grow Your Avon Business
Your Avon Business is a relationship business.
To grow your business, you want to create and nurture as many relationships as possible.
Growing your Avon business is pretty simple.
There are only 4 main steps:
- Prospecting for new customers & recruits.
- Getting a brochure (either paper or digital) to every customer every campaign.
- Following-up with every customer you gave a brochure to every campaign before you place your order.
- Take the order, submit it to Avon and deliver to your customer, or send them to your Avon Online Store to place their order
And then Rinse and Repeat.
It’s really that simple. You just do these 4 steps over and over again, and you will have a strong Avon business.
We have our Daily 8 System to help you work on the activities that will help you grow your business.
The Daily 8 system is a proven formula
When followed consistently, the Daily 8 Plan will help you maintain the consistency required to build a thriving team and an exponentially expanding residual income.
Instead of working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week your goal is to capture 8 POINTS a day, 5 days a week for a total of 40 POINTS per week.
Print this sheet and use it to track your weekly points.
Follow this plan consistently for 90-days and teach your team to do the same. At the end of 90 days, REPEAT and then REPEAT again. This is your Daily Method of operation.
The real secret to your Avon Business success is that there is NO SECRET!
It simply takes a simple plan and the dedication and commitment to WORK THE PLAN consistently! That’s it!

Today We’ll Talk About Why It’s So Important To Build An Email List
One of the most important things you can do is stay in contact with your customers and prospective customers.
The best way to do this is to is build an email list.
In fact, the question isn’t: “Should I build an email list?”, but rather: “How can I build my list as quickly as possible?”
Using The Tools Avon Provides For You
Avon provides some amazing tools to help you build your Avon business.
The first is your Contact Manager on AvonNow.com
When you add people (with their permission, of course) to your Avon Contact Manager, Avon will begin to send out emails on your behalf to promote your business.
Each of those emails will link your customer or potential customer back to your Avon Online Store to make a purchase.
Your goal is to add as many people to your Avon Address Book as possible.
But how do you do that?
Using the Promotion Tool to Grow Your Email List
The Avon Promotion tool is an excellent way to grow your Email list.
Let’s look at some of the options to use your Avon Promotion Tool:
At the current time, Avon has several promotions available.
- 10% Off Your $40 Order
- Free Shipping with a $50 Order
- Free Best Face Forward A-Box with a $60 Order
- Free So Gorgeous Eyeshadow Palette with $40 Order
Remember, these promotions change from Campaign to Campaign.
So you’ll want to come in every Campaign and create a new promotion.
So, let’s take the Free Best Face Forward A-Box with a $60 Order and create a promotion for that.
Choose the Best Face Forward Promotion, and create a Coupon Code
When I created my promotion, I used BESTFACE as the Coupon Code – You can choose whatever you want, just remember no spaces.
You can even use mine if you want, because your coupon code is tied to your Representative ID # and your specific customers that you assign to it.
Choose your Start Date & End Date and create the promotion.
Now, you go over to the Official Avon Representative Social Selling Facebook Group and click on Media / Albums / Promotion Offers.
Find the Best Face Forward A Box image (there are 3 to choose from) and save it to your computer or phone.
Now you’re ready to create some magic!
Create a post on Facebook with the image you downloaded, and say something like:
All of this is yours FREE with a $60 order in my online store. But FIRST I need your email address so I can send you the secret coupon code! Offer ends soon, so don’t wait! Msg me with your email address!
Or
Psssst! See these products below? Like what you see? I figured! Let me know right away if you want to get them FREE! Msg me for details!
Now, hopefully they will message you their email, or they might even comment on your post.
You message them and let them know that you will add them to your email list, and that the Coupon Code will be sent to them from Avon.
Then you add them to your Web Office Address Book, and then add them to the promotion you created.
The email will go out from Avon overnight giving them the Coupon Code so they can use it to make a purchase in your online store.
Here’s an example of what that conversation might look like:
Do this every campaign, and you’ll continue to build your Avon Address Book, and over time, many of these people will place an order on your Avon Online Store.
How Your Customer Finds Their Available Coupon Codes
When you setup an Avon Promotion Code for your customer, they will receive an email with their Coupon Code.
But if they lost the email, or don’t have it handy, they can also find the available Promo Codes in your Avon Online Store.
Once your customer is signed into your Avon Online Store, if there’s a promo code waiting for them, there will be a pink dot next to their name at the top of the page.
Have them click on their Name, and then on Offers… and any offer that’s available for them will be there for them to take advantage of.
They will be able to just click on the offer to apply it to their bag.
Remember, their coupon code is exclusive to their email address only.
They will need to sign into their Avon Customer Account in order to see or use any available promotions.
Even if they have a Promo Code, it will come up as “invalid” if they are not signed in.
Adding in Your Own Email List
Adding people to your Avon Address book is a great start, but it’s only the beginning.
But to take that to the next step, you’ll want to create your own email list as well.
So, using the method I taught above, when you get someone’s email address, add it to BOTH your Avon Address Book, and your Own Email list.
Remember, people buy from those they know and trust.
Avon sends emails to the people in your Avon Address Book, but these are all sales and marketing emails.
Your own personal email list will allow your customers and prospective customers to get to know you better and start to feel loyalty towards you because you have let them into a little part of your world.
Your email list will help you brand yourself, and you and your unique viewpoint is what makes YOU the best at what you do.
Your email list will allow you to stay in touch with your customers and prospects.
Initially building an email list is hard work. It feels like it’s taking forever to build. And it might take a long time to get more than a handful of people on it.
But trust me, it is worth it. Why?
Because most of my Avon online sales come from my email list.
Being able to reach my customers directly in their inbox is a huge privilege! You’re given access to come into their world, in their inbox. If they’ve joined your email list, they’ve already said a small ‘yes’ to you.
If you have a blog, then an email list is pretty much a requirement.
But even if you don’t have a blog, an email list is a really great way to stay in touch with your customers.
We’ve already talked about ways to Systemize Everything to Grow Your Avon Business. Your email list is just one more way to do that.
As I talk about in the above article, I send either a recorded voice message or text to every customer letting them know when my next order is going in.
I also do this on my email list, but my email list goes even further.
Here are just a few of the regular emails I send to my list:
A Few Days Before I Place My Order –
My order dates are different than the Online Brochure dates. So I always send an email a couple of days before I place my order.
Yes, they may be getting both an email and a text from me and that’s totally okay.
My email will say something like:
I will be placing my Avon order on Wednesday, November 11th. If you are local and would like me to order anything for you, please let me know by tomorrow, Tuesday, November 10th.
Etc…
New Campaign Online –
When the brochure changes over online, I send an email to my list saying something like:
Welcome to Campaign 24. Campaign 24 is now live on our website and here are some of the features.
Describe some of the hot items in that campaign.
Campaign 24 is effective on our website October 27, 2020 thru November 09, 2020.
If you’d like to place an order, you can go to YourAvon.com/YOURID.
Etc…
Campaign Ending Online –
The new Campaign always starts online on a Tuesday. So the Thursday before that date, I send an email saying something like:
If you would like to order online from the Avon Campaign 24 Brochure, it will be available online until this coming Monday, November 9th.
After that, the Campaign 25, 2020 Brochure will be active.
Of course most of the products will still be available, but the pricing may be slightly higher or lower after the switch to the next campaign.
If you’d like to place an order, you can go to YourAvon.com/YOURID.
Etc…
Thank you for letting Richard and I be your Avon Representatives. If there’s anything we can help you with, please let us know.
If you are local to Salt Lake City, we will be happy to take your order and deliver it to you. Just contact us and let us know and we’ll take care of you. 🙂
Etc…
Once you have your email list, you can also send out emails about important specials, such as when Avon offers Starter Kit specials or special deals to join Avon.
Or how to sign up for the latest Avon Giveaway!
The majority of my emails are geared around online Avon. This may or may not be true for you based on your customer base.
Benefits of an Email List –
You Own It –
The beauty of your email list is you own it. It’s yours and you can email your list what you feel is right for them.
Did you know that Facebook could close its doors any time? Or Pinterest?
It can happen. We’ve seen past social media platforms shut down.
You spend all this time trying to grow your Pinterest followers only to see that they won’t help you make an income.
Your email list is your property and you are building your income on your platform.
This means you can spend time growing your email list and being assured that all that time you spent will result in some form of income sometime in the near future.
Build Relationships –
The people on your email list are your customers, your friends, and maybe even your future team members.
It’s important to treat your list well, because like any friendship it can go cold. Think of your email list as a relationship.
If you never email them, or just call sporadically, or just reach out to them when you have something to sell – it would be a pretty one-sided and selfish relationship.
Work on building that relationship. Check in on them weekly.
Send them amazing advice and tips. Cultivate that relationship over time, and your sales will grow as a result.
List Servers Can Help Your Emails Get Delivered –
One of the benefits of having an email list provider is they are specialists at getting your emails delivered.
They also give your customers the ability to opt out of receiving your emails if they no longer want to receive them.
This is much better than you sending an email from your personal email and having them click on “spam.”
This is one of the main reasons you don’t want to use your own email to email your customers.
If too many people click on the “spam” button, it is very likely your personal emails will not get through to anybody – personal or business – when you send them.
Create a Signup Link –
Another benefit is you can create a signup form for your email list.
This can be hosted on your blog or can even be posted on Social Media to help you grow your list.
Email List Pricing –
All email lists work on a pricing schedule based on the size of your list. As your list grows, so does the cost of the service.
Where Do I Get an Email List? –
There are many options to get an email list. The one I use and love is AWeber.
You can get started with AWeber for free – you won’t have to pay a dime for your first 500 subscribers.
It’s easy to use and easy to send emails out. This is the service I love and am using right now.
The best part of AWeber is they are email experts, and they work hard to make sure your emails end up in your prospect’s inbox, and not their spam filter.
Another very good one is MailChimp.
This one is also free until your list starts to get big. But their free version does have some drawbacks, such as you can schedule emails in advance.
So, what are you waiting for?…
Let’s get you started with an Email List to grow your Avon business! All you have to do is get started and you will get better as you learn more. I can’t wait to watch your business grow.
